Lang'ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor has provided an intriguing glimpse into his interactions with Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.
In a candid interview with a local radio station, Jalang'o offered high praise for President Ruto commending his generosity and unwavering work ethic. According to Jalang'o, collaborating with the President often entailed lengthy meetings that stretched well into the evening hours with minimal breaks and stringent deadlines. He portrays Ruto as a devoutly religious leader who prioritized his faith, describing him as a God-fearing individual who places spiritual matters at the forefront.
According to the lawmaker, the President enjoys indulging in tea, particularly during the evening, a routine that Jalang'o finds endearing. However, Ruto harbours a strong aversion to alcoholic beverages and discourages their consumption in his presence. Jalang'o admits that he occasionally contemplated drinking during meetings held at the State House but he invariably refrained out of respect for the Head of State. He lightheartedly remarks, "How could I dare consume alcohol in front of the President while he's diligently sipping tea? I hold State House in the highest regard—it's his esteemed residence."
When queried about his relationship with Raila Odinga, Jalang'o acknowledges the ODM party leader as his mentor. He lauds Raila's humility and forgiving nature, emphasizing that he turns to the seasoned politician for guidance and resolutions on intricate political matters.
“Raila is my leader and he is a very nice guy who possesses a lot of humility and is a very forgiving person,” Jalang’o says.
