Once you have accumulated some savings you can buy an affordable land. You can either buy cash or instalments depending with your ability to pay.
Upon completion of land purchase process, begin plans to build your home.

Move into your new home
In case you had a loan you were servicing, the rent that you used to previously pay can supplement the amount to pay off your loan.
