Kenyan Students Flock to Indonesia for Fully Funded Scholarships

Indonesia is rapidly becoming a preferred destination for Kenyan students pursuing higher education, a trend propelled by generous scholarship programs offered by Indonesian universities. 

This surge in academic mobility is not only bolstering educational collaboration but also deepening diplomatic relations between the two nations. The shift is largely attributed to the efforts of Dr. Mohamed Hery Saripudin, the Indonesian ambassador to Kenya, whose diplomatic initiatives have been instrumental in promoting educational exchanges. 

Saripudin has actively encouraged Kenyan students to explore academic opportunities in Indonesia through organised events, partnerships with the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and direct engagement with prospective students. These efforts have significantly broadened awareness and accessibility to Indonesian universities.

Doreen Adaja, a Kenyan student currently pursuing a fully funded Master's degree in Indonesia, exemplifies this growing trend. Adaja discovered the scholarship opportunities through official government channels, which sparked her interest in exploring academic prospects within the Global South. Beyond the financial benefits, Adaja sought an environment that would offer fresh perspectives on development, global governance, and intercultural understanding.

Upon her arrival in Indonesia, Adaja found herself immersed in a vibrant academic community.
