Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang and former Starehe parliamentary aspirant Steve Mbogo have been arrested by police in Nairobi.
The three Nasa leaders were apprehended by police while heading to a rally in Kibera under unclear circumstances and were taken to Kilimani Police Station.
"Whether you arrest me or not we will still do what we planned tomorrow. stupidity is not a human right.we are bigger than the kenyan police cells maybe try taking us to icc," Babu Owino said on his Facebook page.
He added: "I have been arrested taken to Kilimani police station. We will resist any attempts to make Kenya a police state. Our press briefing at JKIA must take place."
Police had earlier banned the Nasa rally that had been scheduled for Kamukunji grounds in Kibera. The arrest came hours after police barred NASA leaders led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, MP Babu Owino, former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, Woman Representatives Gladys Wanga, Esther Passaris and former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale from addressing a media briefing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
“The decision to ban the rally was informed by a request by the Kenya National Examinations Council not to allow public events or meetings in the vicinity of schools. Therefore, planned Nasa rally is not permitted,” Nairobi Police commander Japheth Koome.

Kwani u have a crush on Putin that u want his pic at the airport? Ama wewe ni mboi ya mback attack na husemi?
RESIST the police state, as it has been said before: "when Injustice becomes Law Resistance becomes DUTY"
Are these policemen crazy? Now NASA supporters are going to get fired up! Watch what will happen? They police will be forced to release them like they have done in the past. The cost of destruction to the counties economy is not worth it.
Once again, two wrongs do not make a right. Are you telling us police should let the idiots run amok to appease them? CAN YOU LISTEN TO YOURSELF!
These idiots need to be airlifted to Somalia border and dropped there to find their way back to Kenya. The airport should be a secure place and we can't have thugs all over the place anywhere there.
@Mugi are there roads there? They could try and smell baba out to find their way back.
Can u plix watch what u say,or u start wth urself plizz
Yawn!!

The government of your friend Uhuru (which I don't recognize) is behaving exactly like the leader of Russia. His (Vladimir Putin) portrait would be a warning and a reminder to all the visitors coming to visit Kenya that they should be careful. They can be arrested anytime for saying anything negative about Uhuru! That is the way it is in Russia!
Airports to me represent a major national security installation. Even a thousand idlers in the restricted area is a major national security threat, leave alone a million. Hooligans sprawling on the tarmac means more than just welcoming their hero-it is synonymous with a takeover. If there is a time that IG needs to use constitutional powers of his office it is now. This games must come to an end, the airport is a nerve of a country. The roads from the airport to their meeting parks are open to babalets to lineup and show their 2 weeks lovelorn for baba. What is this obsession with a restricted area? someone must put their feet down and say no to this hidden threats..
I never suspected or expected in my entire lifetime that the ghosts of dictatorship and unnecessary arrests of Kenyatta and Toroitich would be resurrected under Uhuru and Ruto New Colonial rule in Kenya again.
How naive are the Kenyan voters? When the heroes of the second liberation of Kenya were being tortured and many killed in Nyayo House under the leadership of Dr. Daniel Kipkorios Toroitich Arap Moi, Uhuru and Ruto were sincere and sang the Kenyan Dictators National anthem, " Tawala Kenya tawala."
The police are being used to arrest and kill many innocent Kenyans under our new colonial rule. How long are Kenyans going to tolerate or allow remnants of the Kenyatta and Toroitich decadent rule take us back to those sad days of Kenyan ruthless administration?
Babu Owino is a member of parliament. Currently, he is being treated like a "manamba" thug on Kenyan roads. Uhuru and Ruto, please remember that you are enjoying the labor of our dead Kenyan heroes. Had it not been for these heroes, Kenya would be worse of than Zimbabwe under the leadership of Toroitich.
Finally, the people of Zimbabwe have spoken! Dr, Robert Gabriel Mugabe is no longer in power.
Kenya repentance is needed,its because we don't fear God that is why we are facing this all.we need to go back to ancient path and God will hear our cry precious Kenyans.
🙋
Sad that a country that has become of age, having freed themselves from dictatorial leadership, is now backsliding into the dark days.
Hypocrates.Where thugs robs kenyan' businesses in the name of demonstrations and then keep playing victims when police stop them.you think those you steal from are not kenyans too?????....am tired of this nasa hypocrates
The Police need to know that we the opposition ,we are not on this land to be intimidated but to bring the pathetic situation in order.Babu and Kajwang should be released.Let Kenya be for all not for the few ones.
@OneDay@times, well said ndugu! Any airport world wide is a security sensitive/protected zone. Any idiot in modern times should know that! NASA supporters are blind to the image they are portraying to the world, not to mention that the airport is the gateway for our tourists coming into the country. Imagine being met with chanting people out to intimidate.....NASA is just out to cripple our economy at all costs. They are pissing me off big time! Why do they have to impinge on the rights of those who want to go about their business without being harassed or met with such aggression. They can demonstrate elsewhere surely, but no, they choose the most sensitive place to do this. This would be a perfect time for terrorists to camouflage themselves as NASA demonstrators and cause havoc, so I say arrest them as they are a security threat! Once, I was leaving Kenya and paused to take a picture with by brother at the entrance and I was questioned and told to put the camera away by the Police. I was not amused, but I understood and appreciated we are living in heightened risks from terrorists all around us and this was in the name of protection. That was enough to shut up my inner rage of perceived intrusion. These people are just idiots who think they are above the law. The Police are doing their job. Period. They have the right to demonstrate safely and WE have the right to feel safe! Their rights are no more important that that of the common Kamau/Otieno. Wamenikinaa vibaya sana!!!
"The price of freedom Is constant vigilance. Gitobu Imanyara
Na tukae na Udugu Amani na Uhuru, Raha Tupate na ustawi
Imara, I would turn that on it's head and declare: The fruit of freedom is to be free of vigilance paranoia! Practice what you preach, our national anthem should not be cited in vain. You are beginning to be a pain in the backside with your straddling stance. Just saying.
@Sukari:
"...Na tukae na udugu amani na uhuru, raha tupate na ustawi."
Spineless geek!
@Sukari:
Dada Sukari,Nakutakia kila la heri. Maisha mema.
Imara, asante sana, nashukuru. Na wewe nakuombea hayo macho chongo yanyoroke to the truth! Simama IMARA kama jina lako, sio kuwa here there and everywhere without msimamo.
@Sukari:
Waswahili husema, "Akipenda chongo huona kengeza."
Wewe!! At least I have made clear my stance in this. I have always maintained Uhuru is a lesser evil. Lakini wewe.... you are clearly a NASA supporter in the guise that you are neutral. Review your posts and see how hard you are on Uhuru. Una ugeugeu mwingi sana and deep seated chuki. I maintain, nakuonbea chongo and kengeza yako inyoroke! Inchi gani hizi washinda uki compare na Kenya? Nenda nyumbani and make a citizen's arrest on both, I dare you since you are so incensed by Uhuru's presence!
Babu my hills
At Nairobi International Airport, they should have a welcoming banner saying, " Welcome to Russia."
Below the sign, they should a current portrait of Vladimir Putin.
