Brookhouse International School in Nairobi is once again entangled in a tussle with parents over the Sh45,000 re-enrollment fee.
The school’s management is said to have asked parents to pay the amount to re-enroll their kids by Monday, August 10th.
But the institution’s Parents Association Committee (PAC) has protested the move, advising parents not to comply with the demand, which they termed as illegal.
The fee amounts to signing a new contract with the school despite a pending court case on the same, according to parents.
In April, parents sued the school through lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi over exorbitant fees they were being charged for online learning in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Each learner was required to pay Sh700,000 for the second-term virtual learning, which is nearly the amount they pay for normal physical classes.
In the case which is yet to be determined, parents argue that the school failed to offer them discounted rates like other institutions have done due to the pandemic.
Brookhouse School director, John O’Connor in a letter dated April 20th claimed that only a small number of parents were complaining even as he maintained the school will not reduce fees.
“While the school may not agree with some of the comments made in your letter, we move forward with a positive commitment to our whole school community in a spirit of mutual respect,” said O'Connor.
“We are collecting the data of our students to know who are willing to enroll and continue with our lessons.”
Brookhouse is an independent British curriculum day and boarding school offering early years, preparatory and secondary schooling.

Two words for Brookhouse, Chicken Farming.
And your welcome.
Why should you keep on complaining as if there are no other schools? If you do not like charges go somewhere else. After completing our education we are all the same. Work in the same companies, hospitals, government etc
Withdraw all the pupils from his school and force him to close it down )!!
