Joho Claims KRA Has Blocked His PIN Number

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho claims that he is unable to file tax returns, and has accused the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) of blocking his Tax Online account. Joho says attempts to access the system through the tax collector’s online portal were futile as the entry of his PIN number indicated that he was ‘suspended.’

Speaking on phone from Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party leader said that he read malice into the saga, adding that those behind the blocking were attempting to ensure that he does not comply to the law that requires returns be filed by end of this month. "I have been attempting to access the system online to file my returns but it's frustrating. The PIN has been suspended by KRA," Joho said.

He further said that his two brothers were also experiencing a similar issue.
