Raila: NASA Preparing for a Presidential Election in 90 Days

John Wanjohi Oct 27, 2017

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga says that a presidential election will be held within the next 90 days.

The former Prime Minister further rubbished the decision by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to postpone the repeat election in four counties in Nyanza to Saturday and urged supporters not to participate in the poll.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Citizen on Friday , Raila termed Thursday’s repeat election as a sham, arguing that it failed to represent the will of majority of Kenyans. He also urged supporters to maintain peace and promised to give a way forward “soon”.

“This is tribal profiling against Luos because voting did not take place in many areas like Kuria and even in Nairobi,” says Raila who was speaking for the first time since the repeat poll.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader said that Nasa is preparing itself for a presidential election in the next 90 days after reforms within and outside the electoral commission are addressed.

He further faulted some companies for being partisan and aligning themselves to the Jubilee Party agenda. He threatened to lead a mass boycott on their products and services. He insisted that Nasa will not recognize the repeat election conducted on Thursday.
