Miguna Miguna Says Cops Robbed Him Sh150,000 at the JKIA

John Wanjohi Mar 28, 2018

Besieged former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna now claims that he lost Sh150,000 as he battled security officers, who attempted to bundle him into a Dubai-bound Emirates airline flight at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Monday night.

The self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general remained at the Nairobi airport after the pilots refused to fly him to Dubai and spent the night at JKIA police station.

He alleges that the cops robbed him the aforementioned cash during the altercation.

On Wednesday, Miguna, who remains incarcerated at JKIA, claimed that he is being held in a dirty toilet inside the facility.

“I am detained inside a tiny and filthy toilet without access to basic hygiene and necessities of life. The respondents haven’t provided me with food, water, and medical attention in addition to not according me my right to counsel,” said Miguna in a statement.

“I have no access to a bathroom and I have not taken a shower since Sunday, March 25th. The toilet where I am being held has no shower or bathtub. There is only hot water in the toilet, hence, I am also unable to wash my face and brush my teeth,” he continues.

Government authorities have refused to free him despite three court orders by High Court Justices Roselyn Aburili and George Odunga.
