I'm Being Intimidated for Doing My Work, Says Interior CS Fred Matiang'i
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i says that he is being harassed and intimidated for doing his job.
Speaking in Kisii, Matiang'i said his fight against white collar crimes has earned him enemies who are now keen to bring him down, but stated that he will not succumb to the pressure.
"I will not be stopped by the intimidation. I was summoned to appear before parliamentary committees 11 times in a week. That is part of the intimidation, but the fight must go on," Matiang'i stated.
Matiang'i further alleged that cartels have paid mainstream media and bloggers to taint his name.
"We know who meets who at night because I’m the Interior CS. I will not lie to please people. If it’s poison I will say it."
"I’m a son a peasant but I have risen to be a CS. It’s the will of God for me to be where I am. God sits on his throne. Nobody will get a leadership position that God has not planned for you. I will continue speaking the truth and those people should stop their nonsense," he vowed.
He was flanked by Transport Chief Administrative Officer (CAS) Chris Obure, MPs Innocent Obiri (Bobasi), Alfa Miruka (Bamachoge) and Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache).
