A Nigeria woman has been arrested with suspected narcotics at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

25-year-old Princess Okoye was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday.

In a statement, the DCI says the suspected drug trafficker was found with 77 pellets of suspected narcotics concealed in plastic bottles containing milk.

She also emitted an additional 15 pellets which she had swallowed.

“Upon being placed under observation, she emitted an additional 15 pellets,” reads a statement from the DCI.

Detectives believe the Nigerian national was preparing to board a plane to Italy.

She is currently being held at JKIA Police Station as investigations continue.

Her arrest comes a week after detectives impounded heroin worth Sh1.5 million at the JKIA.

The DCI said the consignment was destined for Guinea and was disguised as a generator spare part.
