National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi Undergoes Surgery in Dubai

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi is recuperating after undergoing surgery at a hospital in Dubai.

Muturi, who is eyeing the presidency in the 2022 general elections, underwent a minor operation to fix a fracture on his right shoulder. He suffered a fracture last month after he fell off his seat in the office as he tried to pull a drawer.

Muturi received treatment after the incident but the pain persisted and on the advice of doctors, he decided to undergo a surgical procedure.

“Three weeks ago just before the House went on recess, I had a minor accident in the office while trying to pull a drawer and my seat slid off the tempered glass chair-mat where I ended up hurting my right hand shoulder, and the back. I sought medical attention and was released to recuperate at home,” Muturi said through Twitter.

“Unfortunately, the pain persisted and on the advice of the doctors, I have undergone a minor surgery on my right hand shoulder to repair the fracture that I suffered then.”

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo disclosed that Muturi and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria were admitted at the same hospital in Dubai. Last week, Kuria said he was scheduled to undergo a rare stem cell surgery at the American Hospital Dubai, his eighth operation in two months.

Kuria, who sustained serious feet injuries in September, told Capital FM News that he would be among the pioneers in the world to undergo this kind of operation.

The MP suffered three-degree burns in his feet after using an electric therapeutic mat he purchased from Nairobi-based company Ceragem Limited for Sh250,000 to cure numbness in his feet.
