Raila’s East Africa Spectre Gas Plant Attacked by Goons

John Wanjohi Mar 27, 2023

A gas plant owned by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga was attacked by goons on Monday afternoon.

CCTV footage shows a group of about 30 youths throwing stones at the entrance of East Africa Spectre Limited, which manufactures liquefied petroleum gas cylinders.

A video taken outside the premises located in Nairobi’s Industrial Area showed a number of windows shattered with stones littering the gate.

Security and safety manager at the company Humphrey Waswa said the attackers arrived at the premises on motorbikes and unmarked cars and started throwing stones for about 30 minutes before police officers arrived and dispersed them.

"They were being supported with four unmarked vehicles (land cruisers) and we suspect their target was our Managing Director because her office has been most damaged," he said.

Investigations into the matter are underway.

The incident came hours after intruders invaded a farm belonging to the Kenyatta family in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

The invaders gained access to the vast land from the Kamakis side and began cutting down trees using power saws while others were seen loading livestock from the farm into vehicles and carting them away.

During the mid-morning incident, part of the farm was also set on fire. It is not clear who the invaders were and what their motive was.
