Kenyan-Born Vanessa Kingori Ranked Among Most Powerful Black People in the UK
Chief Business Officer of Condé Nast in Britain Vanessa Kingori has been ranked among the most influential black individuals in the United Kingdom.
By increasing Condé Nast's revenue by 95% in just a year, Kingori has earned her place among the top 10 most powerful people by Powerful Media. This is an astounding accomplishment given the relentless rivalry posed by digital media outlets in a challenging economic climate. The magazine head is applauded for her investment in enhancing community development in the UK with a special focus on enabling women entrepreneurs to attain financial stability. These efforts have cemented Kingori's international reputation and greatly elevated Vogue's impact in the industry.
The company has placed a strong emphasis on promoting purpose-driven start-ups, especially those under the leadership of women. As a dedicated advocate for young people, Kingori holds a respected position as a Visiting Fellow at the University of the Arts London where she offers guidance to students. On September 27, 2021, Kingori assumed the role of Condé Nast CBO. She also doubles as the Vogue European Business Advisor.
She made history and shattered a 105-year-old history with her appointment as the first female publisher of British Vogue. Interestingly, her sister Patricia Kingori also achieved a major milestone, becoming the youngest black full professor at Oxford University and breaking a 925-year record in 2021.
