Kuwait Probes Death of Kenyan Man After Mysterious Fall from Building

Martin Olage Jun 24, 2026

Kuwaiti authorities have launched a formal investigation into the death of a Kenyan national, Kamau, who reportedly fell from a building under circumstances that remain unclear.

Police are examining whether the fall was accidental or the result of foul play, stressing that it is too early to reach any conclusions while forensic examinations and witness interviews continue. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, although officials have not disclosed their identities or the nature of their alleged involvement.

Investigators are pursuing several lines of inquiry and remain in contact with representatives of Kamau’s family. The Kenyan embassy in Kuwait is expected to provide consular assistance and monitor the progress of the investigation.

Kamau’s family in Kenya says the loss has caused both emotional distress and financial hardship. Relatives are appealing for support to repatriate his body for burial, describing him as a hardworking man who travelled abroad in search of better economic opportunities.

Members of the local community have joined the family in calling for a thorough and transparent investigation, urging authorities to examine all available evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding his death. The case comes amid another investigation involving the death of a Kenyan abroad.

In Sydney, Australia, Sheila Chebii died after falling from a building, with police treating the incident as a sudden and unexplained death. Authorities have said investigations remain ongoing and that no evidence of criminal activity or self-harm has been identified at this stage.
