Deported lawyer Miguna Miguna has dared Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, who he referred to as convicted criminal, to press charges against him over claims that he fraudulently acquired his now confiscated passport.
Speaking when he appeared before Parliamentary Committee on National Security on Tuesday, Matiang'i said that the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general obtained his Identity Card and Passport through underhand means with the help of former Immigration Minister Otieno Kajwang', now deceased.
“You will notice the fraud. It was done illegally. In fact, he should be charged in court. Ministers sold citizenship, including those who were there before me. We are trying to clean it,” Matiang'i said at Continental House, Nairobi.
However in a rejoinder, Miguna fired back at the Interior CS, saying that he should charge him if he believes he broke any law.
"Mr. Convicted criminal @FredMatiangi, if I acquired my Kenyan passport fraudulently, charge me. If I violated any immigration law, rule or procedure, charge me. If I uttered any falsehoods in court, charge me with perjury. You can't. Because you're lying," Miguna said in a tweet.
The fiery politician further bashed Matiang'i for referring to judges as an "evil clique". Explaining Miguna removal from the country to the committee, the CS claimed that a few judges had been captured by the civil society and activist lawyers.
“This isn’t about the Judiciary. It is about a clique of judicial officers who have gotten into unholy relationship with activist lawyers, the Opposition and civil society; with the intention of humiliating and stalling the government; making it impossible for the State to perform its work,” Dr. Matiang’i said.
“In three years, a single individual got nearly 30 court orders. He could even walk in today demanding that all Cabinet Secretaries commit suicide and it will granted,” Matiang’i retorted.
“You can actually sell poison in this country, all you need to do is to go to court and obtain a court order,” he added.
Reacting to Matiang'i claims on the judiciary, Miguna said: "Even the worst and most despicable tyrants like Idi Amin, Jean-Bedel Bokassa and Mobutu Sese Seko never got to the point of referring to judges as an evil clique the way despots like Matiang'i are doing. They must fall."
He added: "You can't do that because you are lying. Stop using guns. Kenya must be a country governed by the rule of law, not guns," he said. "Your lies are transparent rubbish. You will pay for brutalising me. Mark my word."

I think you just need to shut your mouth. At least for a day. I call you the intelligent, smart fool and you are.
Miguna your buggy mouth is your worst enemy. I hope Matiang'i will charge you for acquiring my Kenyan passport & Id fraudulently. See how that will go. You know you are wrong but you can't keep quiet.
Ok Hateful Kikuyus...just use your real names since you are very vocal here. What is Sokora et al.
Miguna Migu, not that they will fall, the fact is that you have fallen and fallen badly. You are irrelevant to Kenya but your stupidity blinds you.
