Kenyan expatriate Geoff Kariuki Kayai, currently residing in Switzerland, has launched an initiative aimed at transforming healthcare in his home country.
Through a heartfelt social media message, Kariuki has revealed plans to donate essential medical equipment to hospitals throughout Kenya. The donation comprises a range of critical resources including ambulances, electric hospital beds, portable X-ray machines, dialysis machines, and patient transport trolleys—equipment crucial for improving healthcare access and saving lives. Kariuki expresses his commitment to ensuring that these donations are directed to facilities in greatest need.
He encourages his followers to suggest counties, organizations, and hospitals that could benefit from the support. Additionally, he notes the need to involve trustworthy and transparent individuals to oversee the distribution process. He further pledges to cover all costs associated with the initiative, including shipping, transport, customs duties, and clearance fees. In addition to his healthcare efforts, Kariuki is actively engaged in economic empowerment.
Kariuki has also been running a program to assist aspiring entrepreneurs by offering monthly financial support. Each month, a select number of followers are randomly chosen to receive Sh 10,000 to help launch small businesses. Winners for the upcoming November round are expected to receive their funds next week, with plans to expand the initiative as momentum builds. Kariuki articulates a strong belief in uplifting others, framing it as a divine calling, stating, “I can't help everyone, but for those I do, it touches God.”
Kariuki has also announced a special Christmas giveaway, where he will distribute Sh 5,000 each to ten individuals, spreading festive cheer among his community. His philanthropic actions have received widespread acclaim from social media users who regard him as a source of hope for many Kenyans. He notably remarks, “Never ever give up. The future is bright.”
Complementing Kariuki's initiatives, philanthropist Isaac Owino Okeno has launched a program to assist elderly residents in Seme, Kisumu County. Okeno has purchased a van to provide free transportation for senior citizens, addressing the challenges of mobility that many elderly individuals face. The “Usilipe Nauli” initiative aims to facilitate access to essential services without the burden of transport costs.
