Kenyan-British Teen's Performance at Britain's Got Talent Wows Judges, Earns Her Global Adoration

A Kenyan-British teen wowed the judges and audience of Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday night following her amazing performance.

16-year-old Sarah Ikumu earned the first golden buzzer of the season for her rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s And I Am Telling You, earning her a spot on the live show.

She also got a standing ovation from the audience and judges, who include Simon Cowell, David Williams, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden. The video of her performance has been watched and shared by millions of social media users, earning her adoration from around the globe.

Simon Cowell described Sarah’s performance this way: “Sarah, I’ve heard this song a lot. You started off well, and then it’s like you became possessed halfway through. It was quite incredible.”

Sarah was born in Milton Keynes in the UK to Kenyan immigrants. She started singing at the age of 5 years.
