The relationship problems that have befallen Tanzanian bongo flava singer Diamond Platinumz in recent times do not seem to be going away any soon, after Hamisa Mobetto, a model with whom he cheated on his fiancee Zari Hassan sued him for child neglect and defamation.
Mobetto wants Diamond to take full responsibility for a son they sired together and named Abdullatifah Naseeb.
The model further sued the superstar for allegedly making defamatory statements about her while in a live radio interview on Clouds FM, where he confessed siring Naseeb behind his wife's back.
Diamond has reportedly been summoned to appear before Dar es Salaam children’s court to respond to the charges lodged against him by Mobetto, who appeared in the video of his Salom ’ hit song.
Through lawyers Abdullah Zulu and Walter Godluck of Century Attorneys & Co Advocates, Zari accuses Diamond of neglecting their son for about two months. The musician had earlier claimed he had taken full child support since conception and had been giving Mobetto a daily upkeep of Tsh70,000 (Sh3,131). He also said he bought her buying her a Tsh20 million (Sh895,301) brand new Toyota Rav 4.
Mobetto, however, accuses the father of her son of tainting her name by using defamatory words while referring to a once secret affair they had.
She said she decided to move to court after Diamond declined to honour the plea of taking responsibility for his son and refusing to apologize for the defamatory statements.
“Baada ya kuona kimya tulipeleka kesi katika Mahakama ya Kisutu upande wa Watoto na leo Alhamisi tumepea barua ya wito na tayari mwanasheria wa mwanamuziki huyo ameipokea,” lawyer Zulu submitted.

The new development comes only a day after Zari, who skipped Diamonds’ expensive birthday last weekend un-followed him on Instagram and deleted his photos.
