Lang'ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor has urgently appealed to the United States Ambassador Meg Whitman following the visa denial of Kenyan comedian Sylvia Savai, also known as Senjee, who requires critical medical treatment in the US.
Senjee has been battling endometriosis, a debilitating condition that causes her to experience paralysis on the right side of her body during menstrual cycles and has led to organ failure necessitating two surgeries. She was scheduled to undergo specialized treatment in the United States, however, her visa application was unexpectedly declined on June 5th, leaving her in a desperate situation. The lawmaker expresses grave concern for Senjee's well-being. He emphasizes that the comedian had been actively raising funds to cover the estimated Sh12 million (Kenyan shillings) cost of her treatment.
In light of the recent tragic loss of anti-endometriosis advocate Jahmby Koikai who succumbed to the disease, Jalang'o implores Ambassador Whitman to intervene promptly. With great emotion, he says, "Ambassador, we have raised little money for her treatment; all she needs is a visa to America for treatment! This morning she has been denied a visa! Kindly let your good office help! We just lost an endo warrior yesterday! Kindly hear her cry!"
Koikai's tireless efforts to raise awareness about the disease and her own courageous battle with it inspired many. Her legacy serves as a poignant reminder of the critical importance of timely and accessible medical care for those suffering from this debilitating condition. The Kenyan public rallied to support Senjee's cause, but the unexpected visa denial has thrown her plans into disarray and left her in a dangerous position.

Kenyans are always looking for ways to con others, but apparently some others can see through their corrupt schemes!!!
Hold your horses guys. Let look at this on the humanitarian level. Let's not assume she has nefarious intentions,or whatever...May be her application contain words which unintentionally obfuscate...We do not know. We should also look at her as our loved one...
I would chance to say that USA has a very good reason to deny her a VISA.What the MP and well wishers should be pandering on the humanitarian sympathy, and have the powers that be override whatever is causing the denial, and deal with it later since this sounds like a life and death situation.Well my two cents.
They have a reason why they denied him a visa. More especially how is she going to pay her medical expenses in the US, place to sleep and who is going to take care of her. Remember she has already demonstrated that she is a public charge from kenya. Fundraising for medical expenses in the US. They know well once she enters here with that little money Jalango raised then the rest will not be paid and will go to American taxpayers . Kelele ya church haiwezi kuzuia tembo kunywa maji...
By now, the University of Nairobi or any teaching hospital in the region should have established a center to deal with this condition. The US or India cannot absorb everyone suffering from Endometriosis, and it's high time we stepped up our game. We either hire expertise from outside or train our own. I hope she gets the help she needs.
@OpenHeavens, why does it have to be USA or India in your example? The Implication here is that no country in Africa can treat endometriosis, which I find hard to believe.Nonetheless, these are some of the important issues East African Community should be tackling.Forget the toothless African Union.\
Si tulipata Uhuru? Why do we keep running to the "former masters".We can do what they can do right?Or do you want them back?
Comrades,
The question is, were the documents presented make any sense. Let's not make it political. There's more to just being sick, who will pay for treatment? Who will support, as after treatment.
Let's also understand that, long gone are days when humanity played a role, hospitals in USA are there for a profit.
Comrades like Maxiley and several of us would love to accommodate, please reach out.
Could be They think She's Acting.
