Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i maintains that the crackdown on illegal and undocumented immigrants will continue across the country.
Speaking during a meeting with security heads at Kenya School of Government in Nairobi, Matiang'i defended the operation, stating that it is being carried out in accordance with international standards.
Matiang'i blamed the increase of drug and human trafficking to illegal immigrants, saying the crackdown will continue until the country is free and safe.
Last month, Matiang'i gave the Immigration Department until the end of November to kick out all illegal foreigners from the country.
“[In the] next three months, till the end of November, we have to completely get rid of people without valid work permits or passports,” Matiang'i said.
He further said the government will seal all loopholes the immigrants have been exploiting to extend their stay in the country.
“There are immigrants who come on tourist visas but dodge their way to stay here [upon expiry of their documents]. We believe before they came to our country, they came from somewhere they called home. They must go back there," he declared..
“Those claiming to be married to Kenyans must produce legal marriage certificates," he added.

Fukuza yote!!!!!!!!
Ndugu Matiang'i: Kwa nini unawasumbuasumbua wageni wasio na hatia yoyote na huku hutaki kushughulikia usalama wa mwananchi wa kawaida katika mji wa Kisumu?
"Matiang'i blamed the increase of drug and human trafficking to illegal immigrants". You are right Mr. Matiangi. When president Uhuru opened the door for Africans to come to Kenya at will in the name of PanAfricanism he opened a can of worm that has turned up to be very difficult to seal. Now Nigerians are flooding to Kenya like no any other time in Kenya's history. With their inflex cases of ordinary Kenyans missing mysteriously and people dying over simple illness when they go to hospitals have more than doubled. Meanwhile the human body parts trafficking between Lagos, New Delhi and Europe has more than tripled. And as reported recently the air traffic between Kenya and Nigeria, both in terms of special services such as DHL and commercial traffic, is at all time high. It is worthy noting that Nigeria has practically nothing to offer to Kenya in terms of normal trade. Kenyans don't consume cassava the only product Nigeria is known to produce and Nigerians are not great coffee consumers. Nigerians coming to Kenya come primarily to commit CRIME. The Kenyan authorities tend to forget the fact that Nigerian economy is a scam based economy with 419 scams being the biggest foreign currency earner superseding that of oil
Banning them from entering the country is the only thing that works to deter them. Nigerians scams started in 1960's and are highly evolved. They require National intelligence agencies to crack them down. In US for instance the secret service has a special task force that primarily deals with Nigerian and West African scams. Nigerian crime world is embedded with Nigerian government and that makes it so difficult to know what is real and what is not. Nigerian scammers operates within the premises of Nigerian embassies and high commissions such as the Nigerian embassy in Washington, DC to legitimize scams to unsuspecting victims. In Kenya the situation is worrisome because of the high unemployment. The Nigerian Con artist are using Pan-Africanism goodwill to come to Kenya to marry venerable unemployed Kenya women and then recruiting them in drug trade. The ultimate responsibility falls with the Kenya government to protect it's people from menacing and evil Nigerians
Matiangi, why doesn't your xenophobic attitude affect the Chinese at SGR and in Ruiru and others mistreating Kenyans?
