The Ministry of Education in Kenya has announced the availability of 217 scholarships for Kenyan students wishing to study abroad.
The scholarships, offered by the governments of China and Hungary, are available for undergraduate, Master's, and PhD programs for the 2025/2026 academic year. According to a notice published in the government publication MyGov on Tuesday, November 19, the Chinese government has communicated through its embassy in Nairobi that it will offer 17 scholarships to deserving Kenyan students. These scholarships cover undergraduate, Master's, and PhD studies in China.
Additionally, the Hungarian government has offered 200 scholarships to eligible Kenyan students. These scholarships cover undergraduate, Master's, One-Tier Master's (OTM), and PhD studies. The partnership between the Kenyan and Hungarian governments, through the Stipendium Hungaricum program, facilitates these opportunities for Kenyan students with excellent academic records. The Ministry has set the deadline for the submission of application forms for these scholarships to be Friday, January 17, 2025, by 5:00 pm.
