The State House has cautioned that Kenya cannot afford to spend billions on three individuals at the expense of creating jobs for Kenyan youth who are in dire need.
State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu has trashed the new opposition coalition’s power sharing deal that created additional positions in order to accommodate the five principals that joined hands to form the National Super Alliance (NASA).
"You know, people have agreed to take jobs that don't exist ... so, one of the opposition leaders was saying in a media interview that the first job for the team will be to use billions of shillings to change the Constitution so the three phantom jobs can be legitimized," Esipisu said.
The opposition coalition has come under criticism from leaders in the Jubilee Party accusing them of being power hungry.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto last week questioned NASA’s agenda to Kenyans accusing them of concentrating on how to share power instead of stipulating their manifesto to Kenyans.
One position of Premier Cabinet Secretary and two for Deputy Premier Cabinet Secretaries were proposed in the agreement to accommodate all the five co-principals in the coalition.
Under the agreement agreed to last week, if NASA wins the August 8th, 2017 general elections, Raila Odinga (ODM) will be the President while Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) will be the Deputy President. A new position of Premier Cabinet Secretary with powers similar to those of a Prime Minister will be taken by Musalia Mudavadi (ANC). Moses Wetangula and Isaac Rutto will take the two positions - also new - of Deputy Premier Cabinet Secretary.

@Kamande. So UhuRuto and UhuGuru are the only people ENTITLED to Billions of Kenya's Shillings? You must be smoking the sane Uhunye or Uhulee smokes with your Head in the Sand.
And do NOT try to make us believe your KIGUOYA won the Election in 2007. Kivuitu and Karua stole it for him.
Mr. Esipisu, we can't afford thieves, that Includes you. We are tired of corruption of this government that you are serving, and we can't take it anymore.
Good bye, enjoy your three months left, and stop crying. We rather have NASA, than jubilee.
Will NASA have a majority in Parliament to change the constitution.
However much i hate the current government it is despicable to think of a new one which only interest is "POWER" and not "CHANGE" they preach for the sake of common mwananchi. You know Kenya is prone to corruption and that is what is deriving the NASA gang for there share to eat and take revenge.
There is no way you can teach old dogs new tricks so do not expect a better government than the existing one.
Change in Kenya will be achieved when young people who do no carry baggage will start being involved in politics . currently they only criticize . FOR NOW we might say better the devil we know that the one we don't . There will be no change with NASA
Mr spokesperson.... The sharing of power must b clear before making mou to avoid friction. UA jubilee iko wapi? NASA is clear on this.....
Raila sees Kenya as a piece of cake to be shared between himself and his cronies. RAO, the days of General Kiguoya who gave you 3/4 of the cake are long gone. This time round you are not getting any of it. What makes you think Kenya owes you something? Like father like son. You will go the same way. In 3 months and seven days, you and NASA will be in orbit. You will leave Kenya to be governed by elected leaders of our choice. Bye bye NASA. RAO, steer them well into space.
