President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga to concede defeat and join hands with him to build this nation if he loses against him in the August 8 presidential contest.
The head of the state told the opposition chief that he will be glad to work with him when he trounces him in the August polls in order to join hands in transforming the nation.
“I invite my brother Raila Odinga after I defeat him in August and all those Kenyans who have had wide experience to share the problems and the challenges that the nation is facing and allow them to interrogate issues for the benefit of the country,” said Uhuru.
The president said that it will be happiness to have leaders put aside political differences and join hand in common course of transforming the livelihoods of Kenyans adding that their unity was key to the future generation.
“I do hope that going forward Kenyans will begin to recognize that there are times when national interests supersede our own petty political differences. There are times when we must come together,” he added.
The president’s message comes barely days after Odinga was named the NASA Presidential flag bearer.
In what is a rematch of the 2013 presidential elections, the two will lock horns in the bid to occupy the highest office in the land.
