Narc Kenya party Leader Martha Karua and Kirinyaga Gubernatorial aspirant has a message to the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.
Karua has told Waiguru that she should not to rejoice yet after winning the Jubilee ticket for Kirinyaga governor, warning her of a tough battle in August 8 elections when the two lock horns for Kirinyaga County top seat.
Waiguru won the nomination after defeating incumbent governor Joseph Ndathi and Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gitari Gachoka.
Speaking on Saturday when her Nack-Kenya party endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto’s re-election bid, Karua exuded confidence that, based on her past track record she will comfortably defeat Waiguru in the much awaited August contest. “I am ready to take Kirinyaga governor’s seat, those who won during party nominations should not celebrate yet, I was not part of the nominations and if I were, I would still have emerged the winner,” said Karua.
“That was just a beginning, let them be ready for a friendly fire,” she added.
“We are not hate speech people, let’s have peaceful elections which will reflect us as peaceful leaders,” he told Narc Kenya delegates from across the country.
The decision by Karua’s party to back President Kenyatta’s candidacy is likely to boost her bid for Kirinyaga Governor.
