Opposition outfit National Super Alliance (NASA) is set to hold a major rally next week to endorse the nomination of Orange Democratic Movement leader, Raila Odinga.
Sources reveal that, in the event whose date is yet to be announced, a total of 11 parties will declare their support for Raila Odinga presidential bid as he looks to dislodge the Jubilee administration from power.
Former Lands Cabinet Secretary, Charity Ngilu's NARC party is among the 11 political outfits that will endorse the former prime minister’s bid in what the coalition has termed as a historic event. Other parties will include Muungano Party led by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Chama Cha Uzalendo, Maendeleo Party and Federal Party of Kenya (FPK).
The 11 parties are expected to first hold National Delegates Conference before making the announcement that will be a major boost to the opposition coalition’s bid to occupy the state house.
Federal Party of Kenya Secretary General, Kennedy Okello, revealed that his party and the rest of the parties decide to back Odinga’s bid since he has the interest of Kenya at heart adding that they will send President Uhuru home.
“It will be a big day since we are meeting to endorse a leader who has the interests of Kenyans at heart. Our manifesto respects the chapter on integrity and we cannot work with Jubilee Party which is known to give false promises and has failed Kenyans in all areas,” stated Okello.
This come just a week after President Uhuru Kenyatta received endorsement in a similar fashion by five parties which included, Kenya African National Union (KANU), Maendeleo Chap Chap, Economic Freedom Party, Northern Frontier Party and Martha Karua's NARC-Kenya.
