Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has affirmed that he will be in the ballot for the 2022 presidential race despite attempts by rivals to kill his dream.
Moi accused Deputy President William Ruto of planting a rival in the race for Baringo senatorial seat in order to throw him in the political darkness, all in an aim to eliminate competition.
"This fight I am facing is about 2022 and has nothing to do with the welfare of Baringo people. Their scheme is to have a puppet senator who can sing to their whims and especially with the discovery of resources such as oil and other precious minerals in the county," he said.
He added, "I pity my brother who has accepted to be used to the point of using lies for selfish interests."
The senator called on Baringo resident to stand with him as he has been on the forefront in fighting for their rights, urging them to reject political projects meant to finish him politically.
The former president Daniel Moi’s son revealed that he was being fought after questioning why the Kalenjin community was getting a raw deal from the government despite the Deputy President William Ruto having equal share of the government.
"Little did I know I was inserting my hands in a beehive as the journey to finish me politically started," he said.
He accused the DP of frequently touring Baringo in aim to silence him from fighting for his people.
"He has been here 37 times and I say thank you for welcoming him. Continue welcoming him for the many visits he will make but be sure the day I am out of this seat, you will never see him again because his mission will have been accomplished," he said.
He said that nothing will stop him from contesting for the country’s highest office.
