Mt Kenya Region Reviewing Your Support in 2022 Polls, Senator Njoroge Tells DP William Ruto

Controversial Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge has reignited his attacks on Deputy President, William Ruto, on his 2022 presidential bid, two months to the General Election.

Addressing the press in Naivasha, the Senator accused the Jubilee’s deputy leader of systematically locking out politicians from Central Kenya and Rift Valley who he considers as ‘stumbling block’to his 2022 political ambitions.

According to the legislator, Deputy President was massively involved in ensuring that certain politicians from Rift Valley and the Mt Kenya region lost in the nomination, in order to eliminate competition as he eyes the country’s highest political office in the 2022 elections.

Njoroge in a hard hitting statement to the media told Ruto that the Mt Kenya region was rethinking his automatic support as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor.

“The Deputy President has resorted to using government agencies to lock out ambitious politicians opposed to his style of leadership, the just concluded Jubilee primaries were part of the ongoing plan,” Njoroge said.

The senator further said that the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNHCR) list that recommended the barring of some leaders from contesting in the August polls as a plot by Ruto lock out the leaders in question from vying.

“Ruto should know that there are other credible leaders like Gideon Moi who will also be running for President so he should stop his arm-twisting tactics,” he said.

The lawmaker recalled the attack on his petrol station in February by Vivo Energy CEO Polycarp Igathe, who has since been named as Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s running mate for the Nairobi Governor race terming it as a well-orchestrated plot to keep him out of business and politics.

“Polycarp Igathe was instrumental in making sure that I got shamed and is now in the Nairobi ticket for Governor at the expense of senior leaders in Nairobi County,” he said.
