Two people lost their lives on Friday afternoon after Jubilee Party supporters and the National Super Alliance (NASA) clashed in Bungoma town.
The two died after two support groups allied to incumbent Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka of Jubilee Party and his competitor, Ford Kenya's Wycliffe Wangamati, embroiled in a physical confrontation.
The supporters are said to have accompanied the two governor contestants to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) as they sought clearance to contest for the Bungoma’s top seat.
Ken Lusaka’s group was heading to Bungoma Posta Grounds for a rally when it met the opposition supporters, sparking a confrontation.
One businesswoman was reportedly beaten to death by angry youth while the other casualty is said to have been shot by police officers who used live bullets to disperse the two warring sides.
Several others sustained serious injuries during the chaos which brought business in the town to a standstill for the better part of Friday afternoon.
It is unfortunate that two people have already lost their lives defending two people with lots of skeletons in their closets.
The people of Kenya are making another very serious mistake: neither Raila nor Uhuru are fit to lead the people of Kenya. Both have tons of skeletons in their closets that only their endless egos and insatiable lust for power are keeping these historic enemies still running for the highest office in the land.
I once asked Uhuru to follow the late Madiba Mandela of South Africa example of leadership and political maturity. Although he spent about 27 years in jail, when he got into power, he never humiliated, arrested, or tortured any of his former political and social oppressor's. He (Mandela) was in power for only one term! Why can't uhuru step down for another "skeleton's less " candidate to take over the leadership of the morally bankrupt and financially corrupt political party? Uhuru, if you truly love Kenya, follow Mandela's example and step down and let Jubilee appoint another person devoid of skeletons like you and run for the highest office in the land come August 8, 2017.
As for you Raila: You were a prime minister during the coalition government. You unlike Uhuru, fought for the second liberation of the republic of Kenya along with many other heroes of this liberation and spent many years behind bars while Uhuru was busy defending, "eating nyama choma," rationalizing the dictatorial, criminal, oppressive, corrupt, and immoral government of former Toroitich Arap Moi.
Ndugu Raila, if you really love Kenya, please step down and allow another untainted member of the NASA political parties run for the presidency of Kenya come August 8 of this year.
Long live the Republic of Kenya without Uhuru or Raila as the president of Kenya.
