President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday took Jubilee party campaigns to Nakuru county where he addressed a series of rallies in Rongai, Salgaa, Molo, Keringet, Olenguruone, Elburgon, Njoro and Nakuru town, taking the opportunity to highlight his administration's achievements in the last four years.
“We have not let you down on development in the last four and a half years. We intend to do more to transform the country in the next five years. That is why we are asking for your votes,” President Kenyatta said.
Speaking on the second day of his meet-the-people tour of Nakuru County at Salgaa and Rongai, the head of state affirmed Jubilee’s commitment to tame the rising food prices.
While drumming support for his 2017 re-election bid, the president insisted on two key campaign promises that he will be seeking reelection on.
Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto said that they will be making secondary school education free starting next year, after scrapping of examination fees, a move that has greatly eased the burden on many parents. The Head of State further revealed that in addition to free maternity which the government is already providing, all mothers who deliver in public health facilities will be given free NHIF medical insurance cover for a year to ensure the health and that of their babies.
The President called on all Kenyans to maintain peace, which has prevailed during his administration, enabling him to implement projects that have transformed the country.
“We want to maintain the prevailing peace across the country because it has enabled us to make significant strides in development,” the President said.

Make it free in all public hospitals for everybody
Before (Jubilee ) you continue making some more empty promises (lies) to the mentally vulnerable Kenyans, first make sure that all the children in our schools have LAP TOPS! as you again lied to them in 2013.
So to you lap tops come before health and birth of the child ?
@MUGA. So you want Jubilee to Lie and Lie again. The point is they Lied about Laptops; and they're lying again about Healthcare for mothers.
@Muga:
"Ahadi ni deni." Before you make new empty promises, please make sure that the previous ones have meet fulfilled.
Lap top idea was stupid and everybody including Uhuruto knew it but they also know it would give them votes, so was the" WALL" . But if they can afford to provide health care to women and free secondary education that is what wananchi need. When Kibaki promised free primary education we all thought it was it was impossible .At least pesa ya serikali iko na kazi ya kufanya ndio wizi ipunguke ama kutumiwa venye moi aliitumia.
Ai? How? Tell us how.
