Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been ordered by the High Court to pay Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu a sum of Sh5.3 million over a case in which he was challenging the credibility of Waititu’s academic papers.
Kabogo had filed a suit at the high court questioning the Panjab University degree that Waititu holds.
The order was issued by Milimani deputy registrar Sharon Mwayuli on Wednesday after Kiambu governor’s petition challenging Waituti’s undergraduate degree was dismissed by the court.
Waititu won the case last December after the court ruled that it lacked legal jurisdiction to meddle in the dispute. Waititu then moved to the corridors of justice early this year in an attempt to make Kabogo to offset the Sh50,960,422 he accrued in legal charges from March 14, 2016 to date.
According to Waititu's court documents, the amount added up the total incurred from the moment he hired lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui to represent him in the suit.
Kabogo was seeking to have Waititu barred from contesting in the August 8 general election by challenging his integrity and academic qualifications.
Kafogo when it rains it pours.......be mentally ready for another lose on 8/8.
