President Uhuru Kenyatta has lashed out at the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA), accusing them of inciting Kenyans through negative rhetoric.
The head of state made reference to remarks made by NASA leaders on Monday calling on the government to investigate the killing of Mumias Sugar Company legal affairs officer, Ronald Lubya.
The director was attacked and killed by unknown assailants on Sunday night at his home in Kholera Sub-Location, Matungu Sub-County.
Speaking at Masimba High School in Kisii on Tuesday, President Uhuru asked the opposition leaders to desist from careless talk that could incite Kenyans. "Announcing in public rallies of one’s death will not solve anything. Let the aggrieved seek help from the relevant authorities," he said.
He called on leaders to be cautious to avoid a repeat of the 2007/2008 post-election chaos, adding that the country should never shed blood again because of elections.
The head of State issued a Sh358 million cheque to about 7,000 integrated IDPs from Kisii County who were displaced from their homes during the 2007/08 post-election skirmishes.
He addressed rallies at Keroka and Keumbu Jogoo, Suneka and Tabaka and urged residents to support his re-election bid.
Kisii Senator Chris Obure, former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae and a host of MPs from the region allied to the Jubilee Party accompanied the president in his tour of the region.
Presidential Candidate Ndugu Uhuru:
People are dying in the hospitals because of the nurses' strike. Nurses save lives and are underpaid. Instead of bashing the man you are obsessed - with Ndugu Raila, why don't you take a moment just to listen to the nurses and see what they want?
Nurses are not stupid. They know that your party has looted billions of shillings that could have gone to meet their basic demands.
1. Do you really care? Our other life savers (the doctors) went on strike and hundreds of people died. What did you do? You threatened them and even jailed their spokesperson. We know why you did this: your highly paid corrupt parliamentarians just hop in the planes and seek medical attention in foreign countries.
2. Do you really care? The teachers went on strike and you did nothing for a long time because members of your club have their children in very expensive private schools. The strike did not affect your club of elites the so called, "waheshimiwa!" You promised the Kenya pupils that you will give them laptops! What happened Ndugu Uhuru?
I urge you and Ruto including Raila to appoint able people without skeletons in their closets from both political parties to run for the highest office in the land. We want MADIBA MANDELA example: You go in just for one term and give other people a chance to contribute to the development of the nation as heads of state.
I have stated here many times that had it not been for the courage of the "second liberators " of our country, the man who groomed you (Dr. Toroitich Arap Moi) would still be in our state house as the president of Kenya. See your friend in Zimbabwe (Dr. Mugabe) at the age of 93 , he has declared another interest in running again as the president of that country for another five years
