The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has submitted to the Supreme Court results declaration forms it used in the October 26th fresh presidential election as required by law.
The electoral commission team submitted 266 forms 34B, 37,187 forms 34A and form 34C at 3.25pm on Friday at the Supreme Court's Registry for storage.
The crucial election results documents were submitted by IEBC lawyers Wambua Kilonzo and Kimani Muhoro. Also filed was a hard disk containing scanned copies of forms 34A, 34B and 34C besides the hard copies.
“We have complied and we are also ready to defend our client,” said lawyer Kilonzo.
Electoral laws states that the electoral commission must file all records of presidential election results within 48 hours after a petition challenging the declaration of results is served to them.
Two petitions have been lodged at the Supreme Court seeking nullification of President Uhuru's in October 26th repeat poll.
The first petition was filed by former Kilome Member of Parliament Harun Mwau with President Uhuru, IEBC and Chairperson Wafula Chebukati named as respondents.
The second one was filed Members of Civil Society Njonjo Mue and Khelif Khalifa and lists Uhuru, IEBC, Chebukati and Nasa as respondents.
The Supreme Court is expected to convene a status conference next week which will mark the start of hearings. The court must make a ruling before November 21st.

@Mkenya Halisi. When I talk politics with the folks around me.Some folks are saying that the supreme court should take up the cases. Then decide in favor of upholding the election of UHURU. This would give good closure to the oct 26th election.Kenyans would then be free to move on with their lives and away from presidential electioneering until 2022.Of course this would be the best case scenario. Lakini. Given the dumb/boneheaded decision that they came out with the first time around.I am personally cynical about this court. And hope that Judge Njoki and Ojwang will just simply take a vacation and veto/dismiss the proceedings by just engaging in NO Quorum.
Because the risk of the alternative.Which is for this activist supreme court to unjustly nullify the election. Is too costly a price for the country to bear.
We know wakora 4 judges can nullify again if they want but we as jubilants will vote Uhuru again n again til Jesus comes.Wr ready for 1000X repeats
