Police have reportedly impounded two cars belonging to National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders in Parliament.
The two vehicles, belonging to National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi and Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, were seized outside Parliament buildings on Wednesday evening.
“They act in the most crude manner. They stop you on the road and tell you and your driver to alight then take your belongings before speeding away with the car,” Mohamed said. He added: “The vehicles belong to Parliament, which is independent. I don’t understand why one arm of the government should cede its powers to another.”
Mbadi said the officers stopped his driver outside Parliament and ordered him to surrender the vehicle. “It is unfortunate that vehicles belonging to the Parliamentary Service Commission can be taken by police,” he said. “I am reliably informed that vehicles of all Nasa leaders in Parliament will be taken.”
National Assembly Deputy Minority Leader Robert Mbui said the seizure was a continuation of the government's intimidation on opposition leaders.
“The Leader of Minority and Minority Whip offices are constitutional. They come with privileges as contained in the PSC Act,” the Kathiani MP said. “You do not expect opposition leaders to praise the government. They are doing their work.”
On Wednesday, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino locked himself inside Parliament for fear of being arrested over remarks he made during a Nasa rally in Baba Dogo last Sunday.
“I know the vehicles very well. They have been used before to arrest some leaders and I have been reliably informed that they are waiting for me. "I am tired of being arrested. I want to work for the people of Embakasi East,” Mr Owino said. “I ask Kenyans of goodwill to bring me a mattress and food.”

They expected that after WINNING the election, the opposition would shut up and take over it's role of opposition, providing alternative policies not incitement. Stealing is a grossly misused word, loved by Naswa and it's sycophants.
They can get vehicles from people's parliament
The next thing they need is denied salaries and allowances and asked to have the people's government and fake Joshua pay them since they do not recognize the democratically elected government of Uhuruto.
Exactly. Seconded!
Only spare those who have said and indicated, publicly, that they will work together with jubilee for development and betterment of their voters. Those kifua-kubwa nasariots and NRM-aligned MUST face the axe.
Well said. No salaries for Orengo, Kajwang, Millie Odhimbo, Wanga and other big mouth. Let the people president pay them
People's president should provide for them. No vehicles, no security, no guns, no salaries or bonuses and definitely no passports. They should RESIST all of the above if they mean what they say and say what they mean. Better yet secede now.
The opposition is NOT doing any of its work...nada...not in the last few years. They are busy tearing this country into pieces; economically and socially. The reason behind this SABOTAGE is that they were not declared winners for an election theY could not even participate in. It beats reason, it beats good faith, it beats any logic. THIS SENILE MAN has PUPPETS who are so afraid to tell him byebye and they are following his idiotic moves, albeit washing their hands off him at the 11th hour.... but still cannot have the courage to 'take away the keys' from him...they'd rather he commits suicide and causes some collateral damage - all towards good riddance. NASARIOTS ARE COWARDS BEYOND DESCRIPTION.
Rubbish to jubilee government a d kikuyus.
You do not expect the opposition to praise the govt exactly their job is to keep this imposed govt in check thus all this harassment and unnecessary arrests should cease henceforth.Kwani what did this Jubilee government expect after stealing the elections ?
