Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the party will re-brand to "One Kenya Movement" (OKM) ahead of his 2022 presidential bid. Speaking in Machakos on Monday, the National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal said he will fashion Wiper into a nationwide outfit that will bring Kenyans together.
Kalonzo, who spoke during a convention of leaders from the Kamba community in Machakos, said that the 2017 election cycle was over and it was time to re-strategize for the next general elections.
“We are going to re-brand and I propose that because we have brought closure to the 2017 election cycle, we now rebrand and I will be calling a delegates conference where we now look at Wiper. Our clarion will now be One Kenya Movement. This is what I have been thinking and dreaming of,” said Kalonzo.
He announced he will be holding a series of rallies across the country to reach out to all Kenyans and rally them behind One Kenya Movement.
The event, dubbed “2018 Kamba Unity Declaration Accord” and which was attended by Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) among other leaders, endorsed Kalonzo's 2022 bid to succeed President Kenyatta.
The meeting was held at Kiamba Primary School grounds in Komarock, Machakos county.
