Wazir Benson Chacha, the man accused of being behind a con scheme targeting MPs and top government officials now claims that he had sexual relations with 13 female MPs.
The 25-year-old is alleged to have extorted money from over five MPs using a fake Mpesa account registered in the name of Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, ex-Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo and Public Service Cabinet Secretary Prof Margaret Kobia are among individuals Chacha is alleged to have conned.
Chacha was arrested on Friday at a hotel in Tarime, Tanzania, about 20 kilometres from the Kenyan border. Director of Criminal Investigations said he was headed into hiding in DRC Congo.
Both Nation and Standard report that probe by police suggest that Mr Chacha is in possession of videos indicating that he had sexual engagements with 13 female MPs and other women.
When he appeared before Parliament's Security Committee a few weeks ago, Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti told lawmakers that the suspect was in a "special relationship" with some MPs, but didn't reveal their identities.
In the past, the suspect shared on the social media photos of him and a former female MP alleging that they had been having an affair.
Investigations by the police also showed that Mr Chacha had shared several emails to bloggers, where he attached WhatsApp chats with a number of female MPs. The emails also contain several photos and videos.
“The conversations indicate that he had been communicating with several of them, and he even travelled with some of them to South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania and Dubai,” an officer told the Nation.
Police also suspect that Chacha is the administrator of a Telegram page, where nude pictures and videos are shared.
