What you have seen so far is only a tip of the iceberg, Opposition leader Raila Odinga has said on the ongoing fight against corruption.
Speaking during the burial of George Ndemo, the son of Governor John Nyagarama in Nyamira on Friday, Odinga said the war on the vice just started and told critics to brace themselves for an intensified crackdown.
“Mfisadi ni mwizi na haibi kwa niaba kwa niaba ya jamii yake ila kwa niaba yake pekee yake. Huyo mtu ni adui yako, yangu na kila mkenya,” he said.
“Hii vita mpaka wakenya waungane pamoja, msiseme, inalenga Wakisii, Wajaluo au Wakikuyu. wewe ngoja tu, ndio inaanza.”
The Orange Democratic Movement leader said a three-day national conference on corruption will be held next month, where government will seek Kenyans' support in the war against graft.
"People will speak. We shall listen and action will be taken. I met with the President, we agreed that this problem must be combated and culprits made to account for their sins," he said.
Raila said his March 9th handshake with President Uhuru has earned Kenya recognition and praise in the international community.
He mentioned India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former US President Barack Obama and South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa as among world leaders who lauded the unity pact.
