Kenyan celebrities are coming out to narrate their personal experiences with racism following the death of unarmed African-American George Floyd in the hands of a white policeman in the US.
Kenyan media personality Julie Gichuru recently laid bare her encounter with racism in the United Kingdom.
Julie, through social media, recounted her encounter with a white man that made her realize how deeply entrenched racism is in some counties.
Julie says the incident happened when she was a student at Cardiff University (formerly University of Wales College of Cardiff). Julie says she was in the company of her friends when she met a white man who had the perception that people of color are dirty lazy and criminals.
“It was the first week of University, we were in the Games Room (the snooker/pool room and gaming area) at Students Union on Park Place. It was a Sunday afternoon and the busy entertainment spot started to empty out at about 2 pm, we played on. We were having a ball. There were 4 to 5 of us I believe,” recounts Julie.
She adds: “Michelle had been my housemate in pre-Uni law for one year, we were good friends. With us also were our friends & classmates, Terence who was from Singapore (Michelle too). Ibrahima from Senegal and John O. from Nigeria. There we were talking, laughing, and enjoying a few epic games of pool.”
“A tall white guy who had been playing with friends at the next table was eventually left on his own. He seemed to be watching us. Maybe I was imagining it, I thought to myself. Eventually, he came up and asked if he could join us. We happily welcomed him to the group and had a few games together. After about an hour the room was closing and we all had to leave.”
As they left, Julie says the white man confessed to having a misconception that black people are dirty, lazy, and criminals.
“Then he said, ‘I am really happy to have met you all and spent time with you. This was an eye-opener for me… I was brought up to believe that black people are dirty, lazy criminals, but I was so stunned when I heard you talking. You are so different from what I expected. Thank you for letting me spend time with you. You have forever changed my perspective.’”
Julie adds: “I felt uncomfortable yet thankful that at least one mind had been opened. But how many others were out there?”
“We bumped into him now and again over the next few years and always shared a smile and a word or two… he was a good guy… but it was a painful reminder that this is a very prejudiced world. Spread some love today. Smile. Reach out and bridge a divide. We all need it.”

Ms Julie, things have not changed much since your ugly experience! I think the world is going backward with the leaders we have today!
They are openly promoting bigotry while people watch in amazement. We used to talk about racism of the old colonial days. It is now back in full force as you express your painful experience then!
Just look at what is happening in America in 2020. The people of color have been abused, mocked and killed for a long time! People are fighting back because they are very tired of living on the edge!
As a light skin lady, you probably can tell how your real black brothers get discriminated solely on the basis of the darkness of their skin color! Thank you for talking about this sensitive matter. You will make a big difference because a lot of people take you as white🔔.
she is white? I thought she is black girl ............lol
Brown..... Once you get black blood will never be white.
Please do not misquote me in regard to Ms Julie skin color! I never said she is white!
And assuming she is white, she is taking the lead to address the issues of racism in Kenya. At some point @ formerlyguest2, you would need to shed off your childish appetite and sit at the adult table to learn real issues!
We are addressing some serious matters here that affect ordinary people, mostly the black people, all over the world!
Why you gotta get so mad, I never thought she was white because I’m not so gullible, if that’s childish, I stand convicted ha ha ha- and ha ha is childish . Ati to do what again , bouy, I don’t gullibly see a Mulato chic and assume she is white because she can tweng and was elevated to National tv , you see teacher “whatchmacall you” Mr. Karanja, I don’t get mesmerized by light skinned anything because my self esteem is not compromised, therefore, I always thought she was a black woman with light complexion which runs in my family from Nyeri - we know down in our lineage someone got raped by the kaburu, so , what do you want to educate me about again, bouy!. I’m not too far from her skin tone and some of my relatives are what you call yellow, so educate me please, I dare you!!!
One question: Is your father still alive!?
Indeed, if he is alive and happen to read what you have written here, he may end up thinking the child was thrown into the drain with the birth water, while he kept the placenta! It does happen sometimes!
I won’t say anything about how your mama raised you; because I do accord respect, dignity and kindness to all women, including those ladies that I do not know!
It is not your mama’s fault that you turned out the way you did! You know, your mama made every effort to send you to Pennsylvania as she hoped to open your eyes!
You have a severe bitterness that is consuming you in a wholistic way! You may want to consult a medical doctor, a psychiatrist to sort out your mental issues.
I would want to have a tête-à-tête-a-tete with your FATHER from Nyeri. Nyeri is known to produce some quality, and high caliber men! Nyeri is the honorable home county of our former president, the HE Mwai Kibaki!! Please stop reducing Nyeri folks into a pile of rubbles! You are an insult to their good name!
Please respect Ms Julie and her opinions. She deserves much better from you and other Kenyans - both women and men!
What a crude little man that had no respect for someone’s parents into a discussion and uses insults as a rebuttal, your psychological issues are the ones rearing their ugly head here not mine. Let me leave your little boy self alone , you are a disgrace to all black men in the world !
The man is trying to enlighten you. You sound like a total basket case! I’m just saying; you got a huge problem my dear!
Waoh the Kenyan version of Karen- the Kimberley type that translates the obvious, like being in the same car, witness a car accident and still ask your fellow passengers, “did you see that”. Well 🙄
Good, something to work on this lockdown, I must take Pilates or Yoga, thank you for that, so humbled by your concerns about me and my wellness, I will make sure I give referrals for your on point observation, all via mwakilishi dark web - get it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
&formerlyguedt2 - now all over sudden Mwakilishi has just turned out to be a “dark web”?? Don’t you think you are racist to Mwakilishi! Anyway, Josh told me every body who work there is white!! So you have a reason to be racist to them all!
@karanja is trying to help you! His using of your parents is just to let you know that normal parents won’t be proud of your behavior here! You started by insulting Julie over myriads of things and you do not even know Ms Gichuru! No! We do not do those kind of things in Nyeri! Stop dragging us along with your ignorance! Please closely look at your inner-self! You got a big problem(s)!!
Kenyans mko na shida nyingi sana hapa . Sad all around all of you are sad people , all of you ganging on her are worse than demons. Y'all need Jesus
@anomous cum @formerlyguest2 cum very confused woman from Nyeri who now resides at the whitehouse in the US! Very shocking to see a rouge Nyeri woman attacking a self made Julie! Do I laugh or do I cry! Jameni!!
Self made looollll, Kim Kardashian can say the same thing too, self made , brainwashing aka gullibility is real in gichuru family
Who wants to live in White House, that’s a cold place even for millions, I prefer Potomac or Clarksville, my kinda of a glass house🤣🤣🤣
Potomac is kinda low class for you gal! You are better of at Lincoln bedroom with your old boy there to keep you nicely warm! He will nourish you with a couple more racist words and something warm between you! That what you are missing right now! You know!!!
Thank you for the heartfelt concern, I surely do appreciate it mwakilishi commentor, I’m a bit slow in understanding what is help and what are insults, bless you in these troublesome times 😎
@formerlyguest2, why are you cursing Mwakilishi? They gave you the space to air your dirty laundry here! You should even tell them “thank you” for making you very famous! You can now be a worldwide journalist with your special English, and even work for Mwakilishi in Nyeri County!
This dude is a woman but sounds and behaves like a dirty man!
@formerlyguest2 - Have you no decency, Maa’m!
No I don’t, I’m the village idiot, will that cool things down for you ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You sound like hot chic that will make a man from the coast squad like a lonely dog! Would you?? Rate your prowess!!
Do psychos have decency to normal people like you 😎🙄🙄. Didn’t think so, now hurl all the insults my way, I will not be checking anyway. Better places to get Kenyan news anyway where freedom of speech and expression is encouraged , where egoistic selves don’t get so personal
@formerguest2? What’s up gal???? @khaemba is quite right! I asked you again on his behalf, “ have you no decency” country woman?? I leave the word maa’m out since you don’t deserve it! You ain’t special to keep running your mouth like a mad woman in Kamakwa market in mukurweini wa nyagathaga!
Haiyaaa Ma’am , how polite and so polished in your Southern manners?
@formerlyguest2, Mrs Gichuru has already forgiven you for insulting her! She can’t fight a naked mad woman running in the wilderness cursing storm at herself. Put back on your clothes and go take a very cold shower with your clothes on to stay cooled!
@formerlyguest2 - you sound like you know Mrs Gichuru very well. Are both of you neighbors over there in Pennsylvania, USA? Nice!!!
Your mama deserve to chapa your stinky mouth with a huge Mwiko! You truly lack due respect ✊ to her. Charity begins at home; or near home! Your home is non- existent!! Maybe the world shall teach you some day!! I doubt you were educated in America!! It is not reflected here and never will!
☝🏾The man who thinks writing proper English = being educated-what a colonial mentality! I’m proud of my non perfect English and I wouldn’t have it any other way and with kikuyu shrubbing to boot. Your attacks shows how foolish little man you really are. And like I said , ihii nicio irumanaga igikira aciari kwa discussion and FYI my father and mother and entire family would not dignify you with an audience, you are not at our caliber , don’t flatter yourself and Kibaki would tell you tiga wanna, huku gutitangatangagwo ni ihii
Have you ever gone back to read what you have written about anything? I suggest you do that here to see how childish you are! You sound like a trashy woman! What part of Nyeri are you from? Nyeri women don’t not behave like you! Is the weight of the world collapsing on your head!? Be real!
ha ha ha why are folks so mad over here , so sad the groupies are out , Karanja must be one handsome chaps rounding out his groupies to attack another human being
@formerlyguest2 - No! “People” are not mad as they make kind comments to assist you see the light and reflect on yourself and your short comings!
Why would anyone want to attack you had you not attacked Julie first?
You have said outrageous things here attacking Julie over matters you had no business picking your nose in.
I for one, I am shocked, damn founded, and confused that you can attack another woman for no reason! You are behaving like a manly-girly to attack a woman who kindly offered her views on the issues of racism based on her experiences! Julie was not competing with you. She was just narrating her personal encounters as a student in England.
What are you doing? Woman on woman racism crimes? We have traveled a long distance in matters discrimination, racism, economic denials, etc for you to want to take women back into the dark days when women were never expected to have an opinion, or a single achievement of our own!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣...Bitter folks , Julie Gichuru relatives acting like saints he he , sad. It’s over demonize a woman with an opinion because of another and think you are better if at all you are a woman wairish ha ha ha. Kenyans are such special breed, a pot calling a kettle black..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sad when y’all were attacking Ivy League Larry you were all not hell bent with madness to the dark black skinned brother, inferiority complex much and reverse racism happening here. Watu wa baba Yao wametokelezea kweli kweli
Ha ha🤣🤣🤣🤣, what is this Girl Scout or a feminist movement Wairimu. Free world, let the individual have her opinion regardless of gender
Both Girl Scout, feminist movement, Boy Scout and Mathare!! Are you in the Boy Scout? I thought I throw that in there for you conspicuous consumption?
FYI who knew negating Julie me me next would be competing, did I touch a nerve ?
And who told you people are mad? Why get mad over a lunatic?
Everyone who is writing to you here is simply trying to save your face👵🏿 from you embarrassing yourself even more.
They feel sorry about your retarded ignorance in the comments you are making attacking innocent folks while claiming “dont mess with a damn Nyeri woman”!
I really fault your parents the way they brought you up! They should have sent you to an Approved School to be reformed if they could not do it.
What makes you think that everyone (men) in Kenya are all from Nyeri where you beat/kill men at will. Cross over to Kisii and we will teach you a living lesson!
No I don’t, it’s never that serious, got better things to occupy my day than Mwakilishi ( a playground to make people lose it) after all maniac people know not what they do or say, I could have been in a trance then 🤣. When they brand or stereotype you , behave like one, then that satisfies their classification of you- check mate
I had no idea there is a good or bad “part” of Nyeri FaceTime, haiya educate me prize . Is Mukurweni the good part, how about Masira” ma githomo or is it Kiganjo or will Outspan area do. Which women with fathers and mothers are taught manners better than others? With your explicit knowledge , you should write a best seller. The Nyeri women I know such as Wangari Mathai are not easily intimidated (ha alma mater) and hold their opinions however unpopular! I don’t know which Nyeri women you hang around with but my fellow women who don’t get by because of our looks and from male affirmation and definitely care of your cowardly your trivial questions.
All parts of Nyeri are bad! Especially after my chic there, very much your type, hit me in the face with boiling water!
I have lived with the burn scars for 25 damn years! You sound just like her! Boy, I got run now not to re-live that ugly episode all over again!! You won’t burn some dude with hot water; would you??
Wow, you surely love your broken English dear - right in PA, America! It surely can really earn you a PhD is linguistics! Won’t it!?
Karanja, don’t you ever mention my mama or father, she is thrice a woman you would never be.I don’t know your parents if you have any. Adios my friend, let me take my meds and quarantine myself in my psycho ward thinking of the names Kibaki would be hurling towards me 🤣🤷♂️🤷♂️🤣end of the road for me and this dumb of a website . Not worth it nor are you .
Wow @formerlyguest2 - why are you talking to yourself, with yourself, and by yourself??????? See, that us all the reason you come out as a psycho lunatic!
What is “Milano chic”?? Do you mean that is your name in Pennsylvania? Just curious!?
@Formelyguest2
You are as dumb as a bag of potatoes..you arguments are incredibly stupid its not even funny. This subject is too complex for you. My 4 yr old can argue and contribute to the subject a lot better than you. I suggest you just shut the f up.
And you think you know what my experiences have been - don’t assume because as they say assumptions is the mother of all fuck ups. I have the dignity to not trivialize my experiences from more in depth racism that AA experience in other neighborhoods and work situations that I haven’t, so I support the cause without shouting on rooftops, how much have you contributed on change.org, black live matters, NAACP etc, so walk the walk, and Yes I was at BLM Plaza this morning and then in my hood protest , were you, so try lecturing me dude-typical defensive move of empty debe = insults
Wow, you really hail from Nyeri!!?? Just imagine what Mr! Kibaki would say about you, something like, “ mjinga, kondoro, mafi ya Kuku”! “Kwenda kula pombe wewe mrevi Mbuzi!! And it will not even end there .........!
And that’s all your come back . Yeah , you know what they say about Nyeri women, don’t F with us ... hiyo tuu
Oh, so you are a woman! The very sad story is the simple fact that you have stated here that you are a woman! And you feel very proud to hail from Nyeri, ahhh!
You would not have attacked Ms Julie Gichuru the way you insulted her for apparently no reason at all had you been a real woman from Nyeri!
No wonder you are insulting Julie because she beats you hands down with her beauty and good looks (a very well rounded lady who is a huge example that women and men alike emulate)!
Julie is a very classy lady! Julie is in a league of the renowned Kenyan women of highly admirable character and prestige! She is a woman of many talents and certainly lives her true self! You surely need to consult Julie for all kinds of advise; and more importantly on how to be a woman of class.
You have contradicted yourself so much here leading me to conclude that the only solution to your madness is a visit to a psychiatrist to have your head thoroughly checked! I’m trying to help you because your mental issues are glaring and you are seriously crying for help; literally!
You do have many wired issues. You have attacked Julie simply because she talked about her personal encounter which ended up in a positive outcome! You have attacked Julie over her TV job - jealousy! What is wrong with you lady? I know many presentable women from your home tuff of Nyeri! They ain’t anything near close to your insecurities!
So stop bragging about being a Nyeri Woman! Nyeri women behave way better than what you are portraying here! Maybe except beating up men!
And now, what would Mr. Kibaki say about you? Hii Takataka kubafu yeye!!! I rest my case, if at all there was a case to rest!!! Astera vista you psycho!
LOOOOL WHY ARE YOU TAKING THIS SHIT PERSONALLY. SAD
Waoh dude, why are you all hell-bent . You don't even know this woman you are insulting here, what is wrong with you and the rest of you. The world is bleeding and you are all here going nuts over a comment which this person was entitled to whether you like it or not. You are not innocent yourself and all of you insulting her, you are not any better and I'm ashamed of all of you, and yes her choice of words were perhaps a bit crude but all of you are even worse. So sad because your angry self just makes you part of the same mistake your are demonizing.
You seem like you have a crush on this “light skinned woman” , the way you are fighting over her, yawa 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄🙄. Hope she reaches out to you and buys you a cold one umehema sana over such a subject matter which is subjective and folks can’t all agree on it. I held you highly but attacking someone this hard heh you must be the hubby or the father of Julie lol. Mwakilishi should pay you , the feud on here is mesmerizing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ati beauty, this Karanja mwakilishi dude has serious issues, as a lawyer my main argument is1. Karanja doesn’t know formerly unless he has some hacking powers on mwakilishi thereby having first knowledge on how Formerly beauty measures with Mulato gichuru. 2. No one knows Fg2 to know whether her/ his claims are real on who she/he really is. So the sadness of it all is; Fg2 hails from a country on crossroads where freedom of expression is hailed and to suppress her constitutional right because some “hate” her opinion is not democratic and for all those who have been raining on someone here because she/ he disagreed and yes her insults are warranted for Mr. Karanja subtly did the same yet no one is demonizing him is sad and speaks volume on who we really are . Julie Gichuru or not, we are a stone throwers people, hiding behind a pc and condemnation and doing same thing we are condemning doesn’t make it right. Sad we are all so subjective . Learn to cordially disagree
@formerlyguest2 - did you say as a “lawyer”? Really? Please, you must be a ghetto lawyer! You ain’t no damn lawyer! Save us the grief, lady!! You must be love with this Karanja dude you are so fascinated with!
Who say what about Nyeri women? You sound like one big coward for a Nyeri woman! You are even forming in your mouth swearing at people you don’t even know! What is wrong with you lady?
@formerlyguest2 - do you have a man, any significant other, or otherwise? Get laid! You are acting like a horny bitch! Get some lady!!!
Are you offering her ménage a trois? Sad that a grown ass individual with low intellect results to such crude comment, in psychology they call it... why educate you, google it, Bunch of losers
She is half black and half Indian.
Acheni kutusumbua hapa na Gichurus! They looted KPLC. There are better women in Kenya to be examples.
I have been wondering about your whereabouts because you sure are quick to cast stones whenever a kikuyu is mentioned. It is truly nice for a Jadwong to know the Gicurus. Wow, you just did not disappoint with your thoughtless cheap shot!
I may not have the "international knowledge- read majuu" but it is surprising to me that the two cases covered of late have one striking aspect: Dude in USA and in "first week" is visiting peoples' "penthouses" I guarantee you that you must have no life if on first week you are visiting people houses instead of finding your lecture room and the library. My dear Julie girl's case is the same- one week and "playing pool" Great! In most schools pool tables are in basements that you may take months to "discover"- in short the two "students" took their "class life" with them and felt that they need to socialize with the "high" and mighty that fit their class.I am sure they will not allow an "unknown Kenyan" into their mansions in Nairobi and have a very high fence.I have argued that ignorance of one person is not the DNA of racism- it is just that. When I first went to "ABROAD" - Turkana I was shocked to find people men/women chewing tobacco and thought they were "backward" until I stayed and worked there and realized that with no water readily available you need a stimulant to make your glads produce saliva and cool your body lest you drop dead- people are not stupid/ I was.My ignorance of other peoples' needs did not make me a "racist" but a fool.I am glad i served the community for years and got wiser for it.My advise- take time to learn your environment- wacha kimbelembele of going to people houses on first week- I will not admit you and i am a Kenyan.I hear not a word of gratitude for all the good people that helped you out- admission officers/deans that work so hard against the political pressure to reduce funding for foreign students- how many Ugandan students does Kenya sponsor to university even as Uganda Keeps Kenya's economy roaring in Africa- none! Shut up and go to the library and you will be wiser.
@Francis, if you do not have experience of majuu keep quiet. It take less than an hour to know where your classes are located and how to use the bus. Yes, you can visit your friends house even the first day. Nobody works or study for 24/7 365. Students have time for other extra curriculum activities. If you ever went to any college you should know that.
Francis l agree... that man called Madowo... penthouse.
You know maybe l am the one who is naive or decided not to see or flat out ignorant... to me l took it as some of this people are not friendly and after all even in my own country we have the "tugroups " of rich and famous and how if you do not got anything good luck if you fit-in or even get accepted... So l took it the same way with whites.... Not saying there isn't racism but l would hate to point finger at them....you know what l am saying.... I know they get paid more than l and we are doing the same job maybe but guess what they go out and eat and have dogs that take all that monies. Anyway now all black kenyan in diaspora it time for us to speak on the racism we have encountered but for me l would say if l did l went off on them and told them they are stupid which l have done numerous time yaani l confront and after that they leave me alone and l do not try to fit-in not even a second.... Me, myself and l and they respect that .. myspace ... leave me alone.
....wait for it.
Mau Mau are about to raise from the dead to narrate their racist encounters with the white man since everyone see the need to do so
A sad smile formed when I read this. Racism permeates all areas and corners of our lives, sadly. Where once it was overt, it is now covert, hidden in schools, workplace, the streets and anywhere commanded by the white folks. The modern discrimination is veneered with tokenism to shut us up. In the corporate world, they plant an "uncle Tom" to satisfy their law rules, e.g Discrimination Act & Human Rights Act, whilst they oppress the rest and use an "Uncle Tom" to deliver their evil deeds. Internalised self hate in Uncle Tom sees the promotion as an honour, a confirmation that he is special as he sets about selling his own people. The cycle goes on..... It is with this in mind that I don't take to heart any messages of acknowledgement from the establishments, including my own bosses whose such messages are deleted with vengeance. I hate that Africa has not been able to stand, rule and empower it's children, that we still have to run to the countries who years before came to steal us for their manpower - slavery. The injustice makes me weep when I think our kids will not fare better in future. Sad to see many perish in ships trying to migrate for a better future, whilst the white man says no more immigrants! Years before, they scrambled for our sweat in cramped ships, brought in millions to serve them in their plantations. When are we going to ever wake up and be self reliant?
Are you the "Uncle Tom" of your company? Why delete messages from your bosses with a vengeance? Self hate?
Ni swali tu Madam.
No, Msee, it is because I recognise the fakery. You on the other hand sound exactly like one uncle Tom that I know of...denies everything the oppressed are feeling and is quick to report to the high table! Potea mbali…. looks like I have touched a nerve kibogoyo. Now, what else is new?
No, you didn't touch a nerve. I'm a juakali small business owner, a real Uncle Tom but like the character in the book Uncle Tom's Cabin.
You tell a story about this Uncle Tom type in corporate america but it occurred to me that you could talking about yourself. You're mad at what you have to deal with at your workplace but will do anything for a fat paycheck.
I asked you a simple question, don't be mad at me, reply to your bosses and set them straight.. you know your rights as a worker bee. I know a few black people some Kenyan who worked in Corporate until they couldn't take it anymore. Hang in there though and wait for AA to fight the good fight for ya like most Africans do.
I sincerely pity you!
Why not, why don't we all jump on the bandwagon because it is the coolest thing to do right now *sarcasm*
Racism have never been “the coolest thing to do” in the history of mankind as you seem to suggest.
Many people have suffered and others sacrificed their lives so that the future generations could have a taste of equality and freedom of all men based on the guiding constitutional dispensation.
I get saddened to see you playing your own ignorance while displaying a nasty glean over serious issues of discrimination. I’m not surprised that you are suffering from a myopic outlook in regard to racism.
It is now hashtag etc, How many of you have called out racism because you are cowards but now “cool people “ are talking about, why not blackout our social media etc. I have walked out of a job because of racism and made a change to some so called corporate systematic racism but I didn’t come here in the comfort of my deck on a summer day to narrate my “privilege encounter with a rich whiter dude . So attack me all you want but privileged Julie doesn’t even have a damn clue about systematic racism. In my studies somewhere in PA , my side job was to supervise high schoolers in detention aka timeout- if you think you know what giving up is all about because the parents gave up on their kids what racism is all about and there is nowhere to go However educated, They told their kids it’s how it is. I would correct their grammar, try to teach math but the boogie man to a high schooler was looming in the dark. Sad affair so our little Julie choice of words from her ancestors do not move me. Try volunteering to a soup kitchen in your minority hood , go to ghetto areas and see desperation and systematic racism, then, please come with your elitism to me and your acquired white English superior nonsense to me. Sometimes I say less with sarcasm because I’m tired and seen and hear it all , unlike you in the comfort of your PC where you think your elitism analysis makes you better than I. I walk the walk as a woman, maybe I don’t have to thumb chest in mwakilishi to sound important because I do and say it at the same time, do you?
Stop your verbosity and bamboonsm as you attempt to glorify little shit you have done. You are such a nincompoop in the way you present your freaking self! Who cares what you did eating dog meat in the soup kitchen!? You sound like an old retard who is deeply consumed by his arrogance and eternal ignorance. I bet you regularly insult your own mother as it is apparent the way you attack wome; many of who you don’t even know! Shame on bully!?!
Why would you join a fight you were not invited to, why are you attacking someone you do not know , who sounds worse? The problem with you and the so called Muthoni is you seem to be harboring some anger in you and directing to someone because of their own opinion - you are worse than her and the Francis, in fact you two sound like you have pysci issues yourselves - sigh
Why are you so mad village mate. Why is her upbringing a bone of contention here, I’m a bit lost at the viscious anger at “mwakilishi”😎. This is not the only thread that lately have appeared and insulted this person I don’t know or met. There is something odd here. This Lady or gentleman commented and disagreed with one person but for over 10 years in this forum, I know she/he is controversial like a Mhalisi but this anger and hate , it’s becoming interesting find. The Karanja guy got seriously offended with initial response but why insult someone upbringing, education, their living conditions etc, it’s almost like the different handles have hacked to his/ her real life to make conclusions..interesting and a legal pursuit ... but sad all around, bet no one should cross Karanja and his army
Btw please as you condemn, expound on what you have been doing before BLM era to eradicate it or you are here payukaring with your high horse to sound important, unlike you I have been doing something in my community and family to educate and fight against racism!
Someone asked you earlier if you had a father or if your father is alive - something to that effect! Actually, he was insulting you because of the way you present yourself here. You sound like an illegitimate child whose father was never around.
You won’t be behaving like a useless dog if you had a male figure in your life to teacher manners, courtesy and decorum! You are embarrassing your own mother attacking women here. Or do you not care about your mother????
There is something majorly wrong with your humanness! Your mental faculties are not tracking properly.
You sound consumed by Internal bitterness which is making you direct your anger toward women you do not know.
Are you Jeffrey Dama, the dude that used to kill women, put them in the freezer and feed off their flesh? You need a psychotic evaluation and a possible admission to a mental hospital! That simple....
You sound like you are the one who grew up without a father and with mental issues based on your insults, furious question marks and exclamation marks. FG2 has been here for many years commenting on various issues, you are the one who seems to have some chip on your shoulders madam muthoni aka what was your previous name here - sounds like you have some bitterness towards Fg2 which is not based on this particular thread . Outed much.
Did you know FG2 is a lady ha ha - so hilarious after all that hysterical comment
Racism exist today in Kenya against the native blacks, the owner of the country! The most weird thing is that black Kenyans also promote racism among themselves in terms of providing services!
I can tell you it has happened to me many times when I visit those classy restaurants and hotels whenever I’m visiting Kenya!
We must talk about the treatment black Kenyans experience from the light skin foreigners such as Chinese, Indians, Sighs, and those who hale from the Arab origins!
We must be willing to address these groups’ negative reception of the Kenyan blacks. Worse still is the fact that the groups I have mentioned here practice racism right there in Nairobi and other places in the country!
What are we gonna do about this issue because it needs to come to an end and must be stopped?
I also believe that Ms Julie’s dark skin husband does experience the racism madness but he is able to suppress it because he is well endowed with knowledge!
Pope-- Njeri ameongea kama wazee mia...We are racist
Talk about Kenyans doing same job with light skin foreigners are severely underpaid. At the airport or banks, Light skin folks are given preferential treatment. They can skip the line as the kenyans themselves make them feel emboldened.
Chinese show outright racism and they get way with it. They have no regard for the laws and in this country.
To Kenyans who have experienced racism from Chinese, Indian, Arab or White people businesses, quit spending your money there, they rack too much profit only to pay black kenyans and other africans peanuts. If possible sue the crap out of their businesses and help a fellow kenyan businessman. Ofcourse help the ones who are ethical and transparent. Millions of those suffer and you spending there helps a lot
One American white man once asked us where we were from. After we answered, he said, "The lower the IQ, the faster one can run!"...
Well, racism is a major pandemic that all Kenyans need to think hard about and universally find a solution to the root cause of it.
As a guy who has worked for renowned world organizations - UN, NATO, etc, I have often experienced more racism whenever I come to my motherland, Kenya! I would have to write a book to expound on some of the undercutting situations that I have lived through.
Let me put it like this, the black African (Women and men alike) are not yet Uhuru based on the treatment we get in Africa!
I can narrate story after story of some ugly events that have occurred to me in Kenya than anywhere else in the world! I think poverty perpetuates the bedrock of racism.
I have also experienced racism within UN, NATO, and even other high profile places. A black man is clearly a marked man all over the world.
Even countries such as Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, US and many other countries, racism is naturally a well accepted way of life!
To all my black brother and sisters, you have to be strong wherever you are, know yourself, stand for your rights, be wise and seek God’s wisdom and guidance in making it through life!
You say racism is a pandemic...I say yes it is... it's not going anywhere....know how to live with it like the Corona. A few jabs might help....but mainly it's keeping it clean/sanitizer... YOURSELF.
Racism is about the person dishing it; not about the receiver. It's a problem with the one dishing it, than the one receiving it. Those who have to put others down to feel better about themselves...and the truth is THEY DON'T JUST DISH RACISM, they do put down even their own folks....they are just nasty people. Si hata waKenya Kwa waKenya ni same story.... God help us all.
Mrs Gichuru, please can you ask Uhuru why he is allowing the Chinese to manage the new Nairobi/Mombasa Railways? It certainly goes with saying that Kenyans are not capable to manage such a terminus! It also makes the Chinese feel more superior to the Kenyan blacks, causing the Chinese to have the audacity to beat black Kenyan men, and in addition to that insulting our president as a “black monkey”!
I have closely associated with Chinese and I can assure you that I have never seen such racist people except when I worked I. South Korea! Koreans have a natural hatred for blacks but they will die worshipping the white folks!
YAWWNNN!!!! Shame on you Julie clamoring for the spotlight yet your people "The GEMA"/Kikuyu are the most privileged people in the country. Using Nepotism and Tribalism to advance their cause. Watu mnasahau haraka sana halafu mko hapa kipao mbele.... Nye nye nye racism yet YOU CAN NEVER ACCEPT YOUR TRIBE MATES IN KENYA. WAJINGA TUPU! ALL OF US WAJINGA! AND THOSE WHO STAY SILENT WHEN TRIBALISM IS EXERCISED IN KENYA AND ARE FIRST TO OPEN THEIR MOUTHS TO COMMENT ABOUT OTHER REGIONS NDIO WAJINGA ZAIDI. Ati racism na police brutality! Kenya je!

@Ule Msee, the pity is on you bro. You missed the point of the whole debate so I will not dignify your foolishness. Good on you with your jua kali kibanda, and yes! I work for my pay cheque but that does not take away my right to feel a certain way. Coconut mbichi na imeoza pande moja!
Hi Sis, take heart, apparently we all must agree and be on the same page. How is life Pre/Mid Covid in UK, Take care and was nice e-knowing you, keep the debates alive around here. Ciao Bella!
FG2.. no, don't do that! I think you & Karanja misunderstood each other. Not defending him, lakini I think what he meant by "people think Mrs Gichuru is white" is the deep seated misconception that mixed race people are above..you know what I mean, especially if you, as you say are "yellow" imbued. Going to shags or some areas of Nairobi would have people staring and even calling out: "ona muzungu". Obviously, I had no such privilege, rather folks yelled out "mandazi!!" when I walked past. Ha, ha, ha...it's all in a day of social media sis. This lockdown is having it's effect on us all!! Besides, Maxiley would be beside himself if you took a runner!
How come you did not agree with Ms Julie @ formerlyguest2?? Was she not on the same page and agreed with you? You agree with your other sis here who is cursing others.
We Kimani wacha fitina!FG2 amepoa moto na wewe wataka ku ignite? No one has to agree with anyone and Mrs Gichuru certainly was not asking for sides. She merely made a statement and the Mwakilishi community rose to offer their two pences and in doing so ended up hurling mud at each other. Let it go bro.
How different is tribalism from racism?
@Fanta...good question. I am no expert, but arguably, the former is a by product of racism it seems. The mkoloni left us so divided that we discriminate among ourselves. Discrimination has layers akin to an onion. Some fool herein asked if I have self hate. After reflection, I think we all have an ounce or pinch of this. Why else would we travel so far from our homes/families to work in foreign lands? For the very people we fought to be loose from? Upon arrival, we face hostility not only from mbeberu but from our black brothers and sisters (Americans or Caribbean's) who think we are lesser to them. We then have colourism which defines us by our hues.....Mhhh..it's depressing, so I think I will jump ship before I sink under the ignorance of the likes of Ule Msee who needs to go tend to his kibanda whilst he fools himself that he is better than the rest of us working abroad!
We're two nations at war with each other and have been for more than 500 years: one black, one Caucasian. From Zanji slavery in east Africa to the Trans-Atlantic Slavery of West Africa: the Berlin Conference of 1884-85; partitioning and scramble for Africa - these are all acts of war. The Imperialism, Colonialism, Neo - Colonialism and privatization and buy out of Africa palastatals by coorporate Western moguls; in essence, the Mega-Corporate-Take-overs. Black Nation must arise for self preservation and survival.
