A 24-year-old Kenyan woman who has carried her pregnancy way beyond nine months has appealed for help from doctors.
Metrine Simiyu from Naburereya village, Bungoma County says she has been expectant for the past 15 months and there are no signs that she will deliver soon.
In normal circumstances, pregnancy lasts for about 280 days (40 weeks). Post-mature births (beyond 40 weeks) carry risks for both the mother and the baby, including meconium aspiration syndrome, and stillbirths.
“I don’t know what is happening with me, this is my fifteenth month since I conceived and there is no any sign of me giving birth soon, my gestation period has exceeded by 6 more months, am now living in fear of losing my child,” Metrine said in an interview with Nairobi News.
“Am now confused, this issue has left my family, neighbors, and friends in shock on whether am carrying a baby or something else.”
Metrine says she had two miscarriages in the past before conceiving mid-2019 and believes this is the reason why she has carried the pregnancy for long. She is now appealing to doctors to help her.
“When I was still at my mother’s home I couldn’t imagine a miscarriage and face this problem. I plead to those who might know the problem to come and help me,” she pleaded.
Her mother-in-law, Carolyn Shikuku said efforts to seek solutions to her problem have been fruitless. The last time she went for a checkup, doctors said the baby is fine.

1. She needs to go for Ultrasound to be sure.
2. After sure, she should seek a Traditional midwife to Massage her Belly (to maybe Turn the Baby into Birthing position).
3. If Ultrasound says No! Then it's Nope!!!
Does she go for prenatal care? Maternity supposed to be free. C-section?
That's not pregnancy. Unless she is carrying an elephant in her womb.
You ain't even close.
This not funny...I find making fun of desperate health situations of people distasteful n apprehensible...where is your humanity?
Large fibroid tumor?

She’s lying.
If she saw an actual doctor she would be talking about inducing the pregnancy.
