A Congolese national has been charged with the murder of 33-year-old Kenyan lawyer Elizabeth Koki.
Christian Mwambay Kadima appeared before Machakos High Court on Tuesday, where he denied the murder charge and will remain in custody pending a ruling on his bail application on March 2nd.
He is accused of killing Koki in her house in Syokimau, Machakos County, where the two lived together for a year.
Police said he was seen leaving the victim’s house on the evening of January 7th before her lifeless body was found in her bedroom the next day by her house help. Koki, the founder of Koki & Associates, was found lying lifeless on the bed with bloody bruises on her body.
The suspect was nabbed in his hideout at a Nairobi lodging on January 8th, having tried to outsmart police by driving his getaway car to Riruta to create a false impression of his whereabouts.
It later emerged that Kadima, who holds Nigerian and South African passports, is wanted in South Africa over accusations of battery.
South African publication Sandton Chronicle reported that Kadima assaulted one Miranda Jacobs in 2017. He skipped bail and fled to Kenya, with South African authorities issuing a warrant of arrest against him.
Reports indicate that Kadima was born in DR Congo but grew up in South Africa, where he moved with his parents while young.
Koki was laid to rest at his parents’ home in Nakuru on January 23rd.

@ Kora Kanini, Ihave advocated for that kind of punishment.Yes,If someone brutally injures,or kills another human being, and he of she is of sound mind, they should suffer the same fate.
I believe eye for eye doctrine is rooted in the old testament. Therefore Christians should be supporting it.I know some have said that it has been misintepreted, well, not quite.I think King Hammurabbi interpreted it correctly. You chop someones leg, yours is chopped in retaliation. And now that's justice. To hell with it being called "barbaric". We are trying to find an equitable, and just solution.or something close to it.
And these brutes are an attraction to the beautiful and soft looking ones. Shindwe kabisa!
That's why SHARIA LAWS WORKS.
AN EYE FOR AN EYE....H..the law giver..
We cannot afford to have this kind of murders happening....
But when you have a rotten government...
What else do you expect?
Let's get them out.
