Mutua to Diplomats: Be Truthful on Comments About Kenya

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has urged diplomats from other nations to be cautious when commenting on Kenya's current situation.

The CS in a statement on Wednesday advised them not to be swayed by propaganda and highlighted that the government is open to listening to the people and its partners. Last week, the Office of the United Nations Human Rights OHCHR spokesperson Jeremy Laurence released a statement calling for the authorities to allow Kenyans to exercise their rights as per the Constitution's Article 37. The agency also called for the cessation of using live bullets on peaceful protesters, regretting that 23 people had died in the violence.

“As members of the Diplomatic Corps, it is advisable that you adhere to internationally set precedents while commenting on issues of your country of accreditation. Do not fall prey to propaganda. A case in point is a statement last week by the Spokesperson of the Office of the United Nations Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva alleging the death of 23 people.” Mutua said.

Mutua has refuted the OHCHR statement, terming it misleading and inaccurate and appearing to support a propaganda campaign by people opposed to the democratic will of the people. He added that Kenya's democracy is firmly in place, but certain political players have never accepted the outcome of elections. Mutua praised Ruto's work ethic and economic plans, acknowledging that the journey would be challenging given the inherited issues.

Mr Mutua also expressed his openness to having a positive dialogue with Azimio. He further assured diplomats that they are committed to upholding the rule of law, safeguarding human rights, and maintaining peace.

Diplomats are just that, diplomats. They are guests in Kenya.
If they have to make any comments on Kenya, it should only be in comparison to their own countries.
Let those diplomats tell Kenya which of their countries use dialogue to put a rejected individual into office.
Which of their countries do not follow their constitution?
Which of their countries ignore their Supreme Court's decision?
Otherwise they should keep quiet as far as the internal affairs of Kenya is concerned.
Luckily Kenya is slowly moving towards God's law.

If you're reading this response, see videos of brutality meted on French demonstrators and compare with what Nation newspaper of Kenya and other Kenyan media tried to paint about Kenyan police response to Raila's demonstrators...they are daylights apart in terms of brutality but no western government nor the irrelevant embarrassment called UN condemned the French response despite the horror
