The disappearance of Wells Fargo's Head of Human Resources Mr Willis Ayieko has prompted an extensive investigation.
Ayieko was last seen attending a burial ceremony in Gem Constituency, Siaya County on Friday. The discovery of his abandoned Ford double-cabin vehicle in Sabatia, Vihiga County, located nearly 385 kilometers from his last known location, has provided investigators with a crucial lead. Surveillance footage from the area where Ayieko's vehicle was found has captured images of two unidentified individuals, presenting a potentially significant breakthrough in the case.
According to a law enforcement official who request anonymity, identifying these individuals could reveal critical information about the vehicle's acquisition and Ayieko's possible whereabouts at the time. After departing Nairobi at 1 PM on the day he went missing, Ayieko failed to return home and subsequently missed a scheduled engagement in Kakamega County the following day. Adding to the family's distress, his mobile phones have remained unresponsive since his disappearance. In response to the situation, a specialized team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters in Kiambu Road has been deployed to Sabatia to examine the location where the vehicle was recovered.
Investigators are also analyzing Ayieko's social media profiles, which paint a picture of a well-connected individual whose network includes prominent political figures and business leaders. Notable among his associates are Mr Paul Otuoma, the current governor of Busia County, and former Alego Usonga MP Sammy Weya, both of whom were hosted at Ayieko's residence, Bob's Ranch, in 2020. The missing executive's cousin Mr. Eddie Oduor has made an urgent appeal to the public saying that any information provided will be handled with complete confidentiality.
“Anyone with information that may lead to knowing his whereabouts call me or report to the nearest police station. Your information will be treated with the confidentiality that it deserves,” Mr Oduor said.
