Raila Claims President Ruto Spent Sh200 Million to Attend Queen Elizabeth's Funeral in England

Azimio La Umoja party leader Raila Odinga has questioned the source of funds for President Ruto’s recent foreign trips even though he claims they found empty coffers when they assumed office last month.

Odinga, who spoke at a roadside rally while engaging residents in Ruaraka and Mathare constituencies on Wednesday, claimed President Ruto has spent hundreds of millions of shillings on international trips since his inauguration on September 13th, including Sh200 million on attending Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in England.

“They say they found the government treasury bankrupt. In the same month, they went to Europe to bury the Queen, they spent Sh200 million, where did that come from? They have gone to Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania. These people are not to be trusted at all,” Raila said.

Ruto flew to England to attend the late Queen Elizabeth’s burial a week after his inauguration, then traveled to the United States where he attended and addressed the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

On October 6th, the president left for Ethiopia on what was his first official visit to Africa where he held bilateral talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

A day later, Ruto flew to Uganda to attend the country’s 60th independence day celebrations on an invitation from Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. He then traveled to Tanzania last Sunday where he held bilateral talks with President Samia Suluhu.

Within 1 week of elections, Ruto was off to UK, USA, and is now visiting Tanzania!
Did they elect a tourist or president??
That money could have been used to pay for University education of 2000 students!

Enough of this. You have worn your welcome-so to speak. Take a break. You were once a MP tell us what you did for your country while at that distinguished position? By no mean do I endorse Ruto, but he is now the president. And I believe regardless of what his opposition think, he won fair and square.
RAO do you have anything good to say about this new administration that is still in its infancy? You had your chance. You may get another one if you behave stately.Right now you are throwing adult temper tantrums". Where are your advisers? You must be doing this out of their script.

PUBLIC MONEY
All elected people’s servants (from the garbage collector to the president) must account for every shilling that they spend. This is the public money: not theirs to squander.

The lord of poverty is out there trying to vuruga the people while he lives lavishly. The people already figured him out and listen to him like a comedian for their own entertainment. He should instead be using his political experience to mentor the future young leaders or addressing conferences as elder statesman instead of crying in the streets.

They’re very man politicians who are Raila Odinga’s age they can also mentor those young leaders, alaaar.

Kenya has very many former & current politicians above the age of 50.

The country will be looted clean in next ten years but let's not kid ourselves. RAO would have implemented some destructive policies in his term that would mirror the looting including giving away billions in free money and disrupting mitumba industry. Good to see him rattling the cage tho.

This mzee should stop winning like a baby. All we know is that in every budget treasury disperses monies to every ministry or sector for their fiscal year use. The office of the president for example is already allocated money for the years use. That money is not part of the little of what is said to have been left in the general daily collection account by the previous regime.
Let’s not play cheap, kindergarten politics.

This Raila fool is still running his mouth. He should be implementing his ideas in his hometown so when the five years are up, he can courageously attend the debate and showcase his achievements.
Raila, stop wasting young people's time.
You have too much time talking about what should be done instead of showing us how it should be done.
Accept the reality and move on!!
