Ndindi Nyoro Rewards Kiharu's Best Performing Headteachers with Dubai Trip
Five primary school headteachers from Kiharu Constituency are currently on a five-day trip to Dubai, awarded by their Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro, as part of an education incentive programme.
The teachers, from Ngaru, Githagara, Technology, Maragi, and Githuguya primary schools, were selected for their outstanding performance in academic achievement, subject excellence, and improvement in school results. This trip is part of Nyoro’s broader initiative to reward exceptional educators within his constituency.
The incentive programme, which includes trips to Dubai for top-performing headteachers, also extends to day secondary schools. For those who have previously visited Dubai, the programme offers benchmarking tours to Malaysia.
During their stay in Dubai, the headteachers are enjoying a fully funded itinerary that includes a city tour, a Marina Dhow Cruise dinner, a visit to the Burj Khalifa, and a desert safari with a barbecue dinner. Nyoro explained that the rewards are not only meant to provide a leisure experience but also to inspire educators to maintain high standards in their schools.
This initiative is part of a larger strategy to use international exposure as a motivational tool for educational improvement. Earlier this year, the MP sponsored principals from 11 day secondary schools for similar benchmarking tours in Dubai and Malaysia.
