Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri Njagi has spoken after an alleged video of him being busted pants down with a woman described as someone's wife went viral on the social media on Tuesday.
In a statement, the DG termed the footage as concocted and edited, denying that he was caught sleeping with any woman.
"I wish to state clearly and categorically that this so-called video has not emanated from my end, neither have I invited anyone for a date."
He added: "I can only describe it as panic action from some faceless, politically unworthy opponents who are using my name to advance their diabolical games."
Ndambiri further called on the public to "treat the video full of lies and malice with the contempt it deserves."
In a statement, National Police Service through its Twitter handle said the video was strange and that investigations have been launched.
“Police have not received any report concerning an alleged assault of the Deputy Governor of Kirinyaga County in Kakamega. Equally, the Police Spokesman has not issued any statement concerning the same,” a tweet from their official account, @NPSOfficial_KE reads.
In the video, Njagi and his reported lover have been forced to sit on the floor of what appears like a guest room, both completely naked. The men who busted them can be heard questioning Ndambiri in Kikuyu. They ask him to introduce himself. In response, the Deputy Governor identifies himself as Ndambiri Njagi, a businessman.
However, the men seem to be aware that he is Anne Waiguru's deputy, and ask him why he left the name Peter while introducing himself amid slapping him.
He confesses that he has slept with the woman countless times and that he didn't know she was married. He also says that he had planned to visit the woman's parents for dowry talks and apologizes to the husband.
"I want to tell that man that I'm very sorry. I did not know she is married, I was even planning to meet her family," he says.

It does not surprise me that DG would try to wriggle out of this by saying that the video was "fake news".
So who was the man in the room,with that women?.The only thing I question from the article is,-why did DG have to say that he had slept with the woman several times?.And police calling the video strange.. What is strange about it other than a supposedly mheshimiwa was caught with his pants down? This is a typical damage control ploy by politicians.Deny,and deny till you cause some doubt,or till irrefutable evidence is introduced.

Now, Ndambiri Lost it. He was caught red-handed...set-up or not. The idiot should have just fought over his right of privacy... trying to DENY now is STUPID and who does he think Kenyans are? Anyway, maybe Kirinyagans are exactly that, how could they elect such while they have so many able pple within?
