Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu says it is almost impossible to find virgin Kenyan girls in today's society.
Mwilu said unlike their days when almost all unmarried girl remained pure before getting married, things are different in today's society.
"It is difficult to find virgin girls nowadays unlike it was in our days. When you hold your horses and keep yourselves pure until you are officially married, you will enjoy the God given gift to the maximum. In marriage, you will not have an option of denying your husband because it is a conjugal right," she said while recently addressing students of St Martha's Mwitoti High School in Mumias.
The Vice President of the Judiciary advised girls to stop indulging in sexual behavior before they are married. She said engaging in sex exposes young girls to unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
"Though your hormones are bubbling now, there is nothing trendy in having sex at this age because it exposes you to a lot of dangers like unwanted pregnancies which could interfere with your education. There is a right time for it and it will be readily available. The wait is worth," she advised.
She urged young women to empower themselves through education. "Excellence in academics and character will guarantee you a prosperous future. You will have financial freedom and be admirable by many men. Husbands don't like women who bring nothing to the table," she counseled.

While the title to this article is misguided, Mwilu is giving admirable advise to these young girls. It is not about sex; it is about education. Good education gives you freedoms that are not available to the uneducated. I admire Mwilu for the guidance.
Your face is not virgin, it is bleached.
All i am thinking at my age is, loosing weight should be like loosing the virginity, once you loose it you shouldn't gain it back! Life ain't fair.
I wish Mwilu also advised the girls who may become judges that they should not listen or preside to cases being prosecuted by their husbands as she did in muuaji Raila's election petition.I also wonder what happened to her first husband if she ever had.Or did the meaning of vargin also include single mothers of three? She should explain how a mother of three was still a vargin before she met jambazi Wako or tell us what happened to Husband No.1.
Pressure to have sex usually comes for boys, and men.So as Imara said, this admonition should apply to boys as well.I guess since she was talking to girls the focus was on girls, but she could still have crafted her speech to include boys. This act of sex involves two people, usually of the opposite sex.Unless ofcourse its solo. The safest. These leads me to ask, should masterbation be encouraged among teenagers, especially boys,Mindful that they are at their sexual peak? We as asociaty we have to confront this issues if we have to control sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies.Telling kids dont do it is not enough as we have seen.Give them tool, and knowledge. And yes Iam aware that some will listen, and some wont, but at least the rate of virgins will increase. Not to the level of Jusicee Mwilu's days.
Finally, if you have to do it everything considered, make it safe. Do i need to elaborate on that?
All schools should be mixed. All kids should grow up to understand the opposite sex because this brings a level of understanding in everyday lives. Reduces heartaches, rapes, abuse etc. Improves collegial interactions in workplaces etc and the community benefits immensely. Sex education should be taught to both girls and boys as this reduces promiscuity or whorishness in both sexs.
@Karinga u nail it.This idiot of a woman has no moral authority of talking about good behaviours or morals after what she did during elections petitions? She could have used her good morals n excuse herself after trying to rig elections for raila n his amos wako.Bute kabisa.
Mwilu you should have told them "No sex before marriage and no sex outside marriage" That is how it goes.
I agree with you but the question is who are holding up there no
