Tuko News Editor Douglas Mbaya Arrested over Wajir Woman Rep. Fatuma Gedi's Fake Sex Video

A video editor from Tuko News, Douglas Mbaya, was on Friday arraigned in court in connection with a viral fake sex video of Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi.

Mbaya was arrested on Thursday evening on accusations of producing and circulating the fake sex tape that has been trending on social media for a couple of weeks.

Mbaya was arraigned before Kiambu Senior Resident Magistrate Brian Khaemba but did not take a plea.

The judge has granted Cybercrime Investigating Officer Bakhith Khaungu his request to have the accused person detained for 14 days to allow police to complete investigations into the alleged fake video.

Officer Khaungu says police will be traveling to Wajir and Kakamega to arrest more suspects linked to the video.

The case will be heard on January 14th, 2019.
