Kenyans seeking to have hair transplant will no longer need to travel abroad for the procedure, following the opening of a new transplant clinic in Nairobi.
The new state-of-the-art hair transplant clinic has opene in Parklands, Nairobi targeting Kenyans with deep pockets. The center, Tia Clinic, does hair transplant using a natural process, according to aesthetic doctor Arshni Malde.
"We remove your own hair from stronger areas and plant it back on the base where it is bald. This takes eight months to grow and give you full-fledged results with guaranteed hair for the next 20 years," she said.
Malde indicates that the clinic has three procedure rooms enabling them to treat three patients simultaneously, and the cost is calculated after the extent of the bald area is determined. "Ideally, when we are doing a hair transplant, it takes a whole day," Malde says.
Other services offered at the clinic including anti-aging treatment and antioxidant therapy take about two hours.
"We can accommodate at least 67 patients a day as we have 2,000 square feet space," says Malde.
The cost of hair transplant ranges between Sh70,000 and Sh400,000. In addition, the clinic also offers stem cell therapy.
Malde says: "We use your own blood to turn into stem cells and we treat pain anywhere in the body from back pain to the elbow and shoulder pain with your own blood."
The other treatment service offered at the facility is antioxidant therapy where antioxidants are injected into one’s body at a higher dose. “This is because we are trying to treat you from diseases like diabetes and blood pressure. It has a side effect which is good and you become much better," says Malde.
To keep patients in a relaxed state ahead of treatment, the clinic has massage parlors. “They do not feel they are being treated,” adds Malde.

Maybe you should work harder and tap into your pocket. You sound like someone who begs family for money, makes promises to pay them back and never do.
Go cry elsewhere
It's called choice. Those who want to have their hair implanted, let them enjoy the freedom to do so, and the consequences of this procedure.
Just FYI, the transformation is not that perfect... don't expect to have a full head of hair. Manyunyumanyu ya manywele is what you"ll mostly pay for.
I once considered planting hair on my balding head. Did a little research and found that they will drill 5m small holes in the head. Then I remembered Michael Jackson plastic surgery. And I chickened out.
As you can see, the introduction of this clinic in Kenya is driven by greed to tap in to the deep pockets of insecure persons, men in particular...
If balding is a natural process why not accept it as such, and enjoy life to the best of your ability.
The problem we have in our society today is the "sisyfication" of our men. Our men used to be fearless warriors, who looked rugged tough, and imposing with no makeup or earings REAL MEN- just take alook at the pictures of our patriotic, and brilliant, mau mau fighters for confirmation.
Our men today even go to beauty Salons with or without their women.Terrible. These are the kind of things that lead to narcissistic behavior...
There are somethings in the society if changed, could upset the apple cart ,or order of things. And this is one of them. We cannot all look like 25 when we are 65.As they say ,growing old is not as bad when you consider the alternative. We have all had our youth. Lets age gracefully.
And for the people of the Bible, please encourage your followers to live like their creator made them.Unless you dont believe that those having deficiencies are not created in his image...
We have become a nation of fooling, stealing from each other, and lying to ourselves. If you are 70 and dye your hair black, who are you fooling. You are still 70.Let nature take its course. This is what we should be preaching, and quit wasting money or the so called"fountain of youth" products. When you buy them, the peddlers laugh out loudly on their way to the bank.
Lets encourage our citizens to work on their unforseen good attributes, and stop wasting time and money on fading looks.Again this is what preachers should be telling their congregants. My 2 cents.
