Museveni Orders Arrest of Internet Users Who Shared Fake News About His Death, Including Ugandans Abroad

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has ordered police to track down and arrest all social media users who shared fake news about his death.

Through a video posted on his social media pages, Museveni said all those who spread the rumors with total abandon, including Ugandans in the diaspora, will face the consequences.

“We need to crack down on the people that are misemploying social media, including the Ugandans abroad. Many are now using it to spread baseless and tasteless news with total abandon. I call upon security to look into this. It must be stopped, get these people,” Museveni ordered.

Museveni, who was recently won his sixth term in office, termed the negative use of social media an idiotic problem that should be solved urgently.

“I don’t think it is a security problem but it is an idiotic problem that we need to solve. Social media apparently has been saying that Museveni is dead, locate quickly the ones who tell such stories because you waste people’s time. They should go for you,” he added.

The 76-year-old has ruled the East African nation since 1986 and has hinted he may leave office upon the expiry of his current term in 2026.

Ndugu Yoweri Kaguta Museveni:

The late British historian Lord Acton said, " Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."

Ndugu Museveni: Follow the footsteps of the first indigenous president of South Africa the late Ndugu Madiba Mandela who ruled for only one term and stepped down.

Why do you think Uganda without you cannot exist? It's time you stepped down. When? Today!

All us know that UGANDA IS A POLICE STATE. Not denying that Museveni did a great job containing the CHAOS on UGANDA.
BUT...he is letting POWER GET IN HIS HEAD. HE IS TURNING OUT JUST LIKE THE LIKES OF MOI, MUGAMBE, ZUMA, MOBOTO , ETC..
IT'S TIME FOR HIM TO LET GO AND HAVE A PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER.
