Spy Queen Jane Mugo Causes a Drama in Court over Alleged Assassination Plot

Private detective Jane Mugo caused a drama at Milimani law courts on Tuesday, claiming that her life was in danger.

Mugo burst into tears and shouted that her kidnappers were in the courtroom and were planning to kill her just like Willie Kimani, a human rights lawyer who was murdered in 2016 alongside his client Josephat Mwenda, and their taxi driver Joseph Muiruri.

The spy queen told Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi that the media was being used in court by her alleged kidnappers to take her photos.

“I was kidnapped and tortured by kidnappers who want me killed like Willy Kimani but I will fight for justice,” she told the court.

Mugo, who claims she was abducted on November 24th last year and the culprits are yet to be arrested, added that unnamed kidnappers were targeting her following her investigation against someone implicated in corruption.

“I have been in pain for the last three years since I was charged.  Police and media are being used to kill me,” she added.

She was appearing in court for the mention of a case in which she is accused of threatening to kill businessman Deepa Shah and unlawful use of a firearm. Mugo pleaded afresh to the charges after the prosecution amended the charge sheet.
