Former president Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday visited various children’s homes in his home county of Kiambu, where he shared Christmas goodies.
Kenyatta, who left office in August after a 10-year reign, presented Christmas gifts to kids at Children’s Garden Home and School in Uthiru, Mama Fatuma Goodwill Children’s Home, and Gatundu Children’s Home.
In his holiday message, the retired president urged everyone to “allow the spirit of Joy and peace to dwell in our homes and hearts, as we commemorate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.”
“Christmas is a season when we remember the greatest gift God gave humanity in form of love through the birth of his only son Jesus Christ. As we spend time with those we love, let us celebrate each other and remember to count our blessings,” Uhuru said.
Kenyatta, 61, has maintained a relatively low profile since leaving office in August, and mainly focuses on peace initiatives in the DRC and Ethiopia as the regional peace envoy.

Exactly. Plus he never created any economic opportunities for ordinary citizenry. Just corruption after corruption..Nonsense.
Anything that takes him away from his cognac and whiskey is a blessing. Let's pray he has forgotten his proposal to take land from his neighbors for a university.
Big question is, is he out of his mind? This is your neighbor's ancestral land and you want to take it from them? Shame on you.
Your family owns over 500,000 acres of land in Kenya, that is known. And you want to deprive your neighbor peasants of their slivers of land. I hope your cognac gives you enough solace, numbness, to forget your and your father's calous treatment of your neighbor peasants.
Good gesture
Too late. Kwenda mkakule covid money, you and I your siblings.
Kubafu wewe.
That is so nice of Uhuru. When a certain "hustler" retires and visits children's homes, he will donate goods and later return to dispossess the children of the land to build hotels. Kaeni chonjo.
Mafi ya kuku. Spoilt children behaviors have huge impact on their subjects. Your father ruled for years, Moi kept you under the wraps with your thieffy corrupt Mama, then you ruled for 10 years. And now this. Like Sonko, you are trying to be relevant, to be seen, to be heard, to be remembered. Whack! Why start philanthropic work now when you well know that Kenyans forgot about you way before elections. There is nothing you can do now to correct your distorted image. Retire in peace and enjoy the KEMSA loots that were intended to save lives of poor Kenyans.
"Fwds ever backwardness never." what have you done lately ama ni "siasa za pesa nane" tu zenu mpaka lini? Bure kabisa! wachana na UK na maisha yake.
have u realized 90% of kenyan comments are usually NEGATIVE? no matter the article, despicable, abhorent, vile, hateful comments follow. it just makes u wonder, why are kenyans so bitter?
You are not Kenyan if you don’t know why Kenyans are so angry. Mzee Kenyatta then Moi and lastly Uhuru plundered Kenya like there was no tomorrow. Most sadly is their conspicuous consumption and their impossible to satisfy greed. What do you honestly think the Kenyatta family is lacking for them to go after covid money? And Ruto. You guys will soon be crying with one eye open. Once he gets his full bearings, you will see dust especially Kiambu people. Mark my word.

Feeding these kids is one thing, but, the issue is for 10 years you didn't do it.
Wacha Ujinga.
